Sasuke was about to retort with something clever, but Naruto had grabbed his hand and was tugging him along again. He wanted to yank his hand back but seeing the other's joy at his arrival put him in a more complacent mood. He allowed himself to be led to the hillside and looked around their niche with a calculating frown. It was far enough away that Sasuke's anxiety had actually lessened, and he felt the most calm in this moment then the entire night.
But of course, he had an image to maintain, so he only shrugged and gently lowered himself onto a soft patch of grass next to the blond and crossed his arms over his chest. "Yeah, it's alright."
All of a sudden he felt kind of... shy. He wasn't sure why, but he didn't like it, and so he wouldn't have to focus on the feeling, Sasuke began to pull out blades of grass and flowers from around them. He never really had extended interactions with people his age and so he was feeling rather awkward. He was wondering if perhaps he should have stayed with Itachi and Shisui after all because he was pretty sure that eventually Naruto would find him boring or rude like everyone else.
While he was picking he wracked his brain for something to say while they waited for the fireworks to start. He finally decided on questions. "I've never seen you around before, do you live nearby?"
Sasuke rolled the grass clippings into a ball and tossed it down the hill, watching it fall until it disappeared into the foliage below. "I live in the middle of the village, we have a whole block of people who are in our family." He scrunched his nose and scowled, "It's.... annoying."
