I highly recommend putting your phone on korean! I know a lot of new words and i read faster thanks to it!
Even if you're a beginner, You just have to know how to read the alphabet! (I put mine on korean when I was on level 2 of tmmik so believe me)
Since we use our phones daily we know where everything is despite on what language it's written (we memorized the place where the post button is, etc) so even if you don't know that many words yet you'll have no problem unless you read a long paragraph or something! And if you're a little more advanced than beginner beginner then you'll have almost no problem!
Plus you read a lot of words in Korean per day whether you like it or not
Okay I'm sorry for being away!! I promise to post more (i always say this but i really will try now!!) I'm preparing myself for my collage entrance exam that will be at the end of this month tho so starting from next month maybe hahahahaha
Can you help me learn Korean
Oh i didn't see this cuz I took some time off I'm sorry!! I can't actually teach you korean cuz I'm not a teacher and i still get wrong many things! But i for sure can tell you where to begin, give you tips and resources!! I'll try to make a post about it tomorrow or the day after that!!
๊ฐ์ด ๊ณต๋ถํ์!!
Sorry again for the late reply!!!! โกโก

What is the difference between -๊ฒ ํ๋ค and -๊ฒ ๋๋ค?
Great question! First, we need to understand that ํ๋ค is active whereas ๋๋ค is passive! Your next question might be, โbut omg, SK101, Iโm not good at English grammar, too; what the hell is passive and active?โ
Another great question!ย
The active voice is when the speaker/subject performs the action or is described directlyโthey did it, caused it, performed it; youโre gonna see people commonly use these ways to explain the active voice. In English, the active voice can look something like this:
I studied Korean; (์ ๋) ํ๊ตญ์ด๋ฅผ ๊ณต๋ถํ์ด์ย
As you can see, I (the subject) am the one that studied Korean of my own volition. I caused the โKorean studying.โย
The passive voice is when the speaker/subject does not perform/cause/do the action. Instead, the subject is affected by the action/performance. I understand this may be difficult to understand, so Iโll spend more time on this.ย
When can you use the passive voice?
When we have more interest in the object that experiences the action
When we donโt know (or donโt want to express) who performed the action (this is an academic loophole when we didn't do the proper research to support a claim)
When we want to emphasize the action!
The passive voice is not grammatically incorrect (take it from a linguist and someone who minored in creative writing). You will hear people say that the passive voice is not good or is ungrammatical (some bs like that). Even in Korean, the passive voice is entirely natural and used in everyday contexts.ย
The passive voice in Korean may look like this:
ํ๊ตญ์ด๊ฐ (์ ์๊ฒ) ๊ณต๋ถ๋์ด์; Korean was studied (by me)
The prepositional phrase โby me; ์ ์๊ฒโ shows that we know who studied Korean. This may still be confusing, so let me give you another example:
๋ถ์์ ์ฒญ์ํ์ด์; I cleaned the kitchen.
๋ถ์์ด ์ฒญ์๋์ด์; The kitchen has been cleaned.
Letโs add more context to the sentence to understand the situation better.ย
์ง์ ๋์ฐฉํ์ ๋ ๋ถ์์ ์ฒญ์ํ์ด์; When I got home, I cleaned the kitchen (meaning, I saw the dirty kitchen and cleaned it)
์ง์ ๋์ฐฉํ์ ๋ ๋ถ์์ด ์ฒญ์๋์ด์; When I got home, the kitchen was cleaned (meaning, someone (unknown or otherwise) cleaned the kitchen when I was out)
*gasp!* Yes, by now, you've noticed that ์ด/๊ฐ goes with passive!
Now, onto your question: what's the difference between -๊ฒ ํ๋ค and -๊ฒ ๋๋ค?
-๊ฒ ํ๋ค: causative
The causative aspect shows that A causes B to happen. Pretend you have a younger siblingโhere are some examples:
๋์์ ์ ๋ฅผ ๋ฆ๊ฒ ํ์ด์; My sibling made me late
์ ๋ ๋์์ด ๋ฌธ์ ๋ฅผ ์ดํดํ๊ฒ ํ์ด์; I made them understand the problem
์ ๋ฅผ ๊ท์ฐฎ๊ฒ ํ์ด์; You (the sibling) bothered me!ย
(์ ๋) ๋์์ ํ์ฅํ์ผ๋ก ์์๊ฒ ํ์ด์; I made my sibling pretty with makeup
A (๋์/์ ) causes B to happen. B does not mean the recipient (์ /๋์) of the action โ B represents the action.ย
-๊ฒ ๋๋ค; to become (passive)
This grammar point shows that B changes A! Letโs use the examples from above.ย
๋์์ด ํ์ฅํ์ผ๋ก ์์๊ฒ ๋์ด์; my sibling became pretty with makeup
๋์ ๋๋ฌธ์ ์ ๊ฐ ๊ท์ฐฎ๊ฒ ๋์์ด์; my sibling has been bothering me
๋ฌธ์ ๊ฐ ๋์์๊ฒ ์ดํดํ๊ฒ ๋์์ด์; my sibling came to understand the problem [more literally; the problem was understood by my sibling]
๋์ ๋๋ฌธ์ ์ ๊ฐ ๋ฆ๊ฒ ๋์์ด์; I became late because of my sibling
Now, I'm sure you've noticed that there are two spellings of a conjugated '๋๋ค'. The only difference between '๋์์ด์' and '๋์ด์' is that '๋์ด์' is a contraction of '๋์์ด์'. You may have other Korean learners attempt to tell you that you write one [๋์์ด์] and speak the other [๋์ด์]. This isn't not true; it's just not a rule written in stone. You are very much able to write the contracted '๋์ด์' instead of the regular '๋์์ด์'. In fact, native Korean speakers do this all the time. It would be like saying we shouldn't write any English contractions because it's not grammatically correct--it's just wrong. The rules of '๋๋ค' are more complex than just written and spoken, but that's a blog for another day.
I hope this helped answer your question! If you're still confused, don't hesitate to send me another ask or pm me! I'm always open to clearing up any confusion or directing you to a source that may help!
Happy Learning :)

Could you do a lesson on ๊ฒ ์ง and ์๋๊ฒ ์ง when used as a question and as a statement?
There are a lot of grammar points in here, so I'll give you an index:
-๊ฒ ๋ค; intention, will / observation, supposition
-์ง(์)/์ฃ ?; right?, isn't it?
์๋๋ค; to not be
N(์ด/๊ฐ) + ์๋๋ค + ์ง์
์๋๋ค + ๊ฒ ๋ค + ์ง์
I sincerely apologize for the length of this post! There's a lot to unpack in just those two phrases, so I hope this helps.
1. -๊ฒ ๋ค; intention, will (1) / observation, supposition (2)
Phrases youโll hear/know using -๊ฒ ๋ค:
(1) ์ ๋จน๊ฒ ์ต๋๋ค โ Iโll eat well (aka: I intend to eat well)
(1) ๋ญ ๋์๊ฒ ์ต๋๊น? โ What will you eat? (๋์๋ง)
(1) ์ ํ๊ฒ ์ต๋๋ค โ Iโll do my best!
(2) ๋ง์๊ฒ ์ต๋๋ค! โ I suppose it is delicious
(2) ํผ๊ณคํ๊ฒ ์ต๋๋ค โ I suppose you're tired
(2) ๋ด์ผ ๋น๊ฐ ์ค๊ฒ ์ต๋๋ค! - I suppose it's going to rain tomorrow
When to use -๊ฒ ๋ค:
Use it for yourself when you want to express first-person intent or will
If you do this, then remember that itโs more common and natural to use -๊ฒ ๋ค with formal grammatical patterns (thatโs why you see -(์ค)ใ ๋๋ค in all the examples)
This pattern also puts more emphasis on the intention than the simpler (์ผ)ใน ๊ฒ์ด๋ค future tense; if you use the -๊ฒ ๋ค pattern, you mean it, essentially.
Use it when you want to make an observation towards someone or something else
Use it when inquiring about another personโs intent or will
All that said, you can use -(์ผ)ใน ๊ฒ์ด๋ค to express a future action in a less formal situation.
๋ญ ๋จน์ ๊ฑฐ์ผ? (with friends) vs. ๋ญ ๋์๊ฒ ์ต๋๊น? (as the server)
Note: you can use this pattern in lower formality situations (as an example, ํ๋ค๊ฒ ์ด; it seems difficult), it's completely okay! It's just more common to use -๊ฒ ์ต๋๋ค when talking about the intended future in a formal situation.
2. -์ง(์)/์ฃ ; right(?), isn't it?
This is used to ask for confirmation from the speaker about an observation! For us Canadians, this is the "eh?" we love so dearly. You can use this as a statement, to agree with the speaker. The difference between ์ง์ and ์ฃ is just pronunciation; they're the exact same thing. Examples:
์ถฅ์ฃ ? - it's cold, isn't it? (Canadian translation: it's cold, eh?)
์ธ๊ตญ์ธ๋ค์ ํ๊ตญ์์ ์ผํ๊ธฐ ํ๋ค์ง์? - it's hard for foreigners to work in Korea, right?
์๊ณ ์์ฃ ? - you know that, right?
๋น๊ทผ์ด์ง - right, of course! (informal)
3. ์๋๋ค; to not be
This is pretty self-explanatory. It's the opposite of ์ด๋ค! When using this verb, make sure you use ์ด/๊ฐ particles! Here are some examples:
๊ทธ ๋จ์๋ ๋ฐฐ์ฐ๊ฐ ์๋์์ - he's not an actor
ํ์์ด ์๋ ์! - I'm not a student
๋ถ์๊ฐ ์๋์์? - you're not rich?
4. N(์ด/๊ฐ) + ์๋๋ค + ์ง์
If we combine ์๋๋ค and ์ง์ we can get sentences that express a negative statement to be confirmed. It's best to illustrate this with examples:
๋๋ด์ด ์๋์ฃ ? - you're not joking, right?
๋ถ์๊ฐ ์๋์ง์? - you're not rich, are you?
ํ๊ตญ์ธ์ด ์๋์ฃ ? - you're not Korean, right?
Note: when answering these questions, you have to answer the Korean way; we have to think of if we agree or disagree with the statement. Look hereย for examples.
5. ์๋๋ค + ๊ฒ ๋ค + ์ง์
Final grammar point! This is also pretty self-explanatory. As we know, -๊ฒ ๋ค is used to express an observation or supposition. When we attach -์ง์, we are expressing that we need the listener to agree with our future observation. Examples:
-๊ฒ ๋ค + ์ง์
์ฝ๊ฒ ์ฃ ? - I suppose it's gonna be easy, right?
๋ค์ ์ฃผ์ ํ๊ตญ์ด ์ํ์ ์ด๋ ต๊ฒ ์ฃ ? - The Korean test next week will be hard, right?
When adding ์๋๋ค to ๊ฒ ์ง(์)/์ฃ , we are expressing a statement that we (the speaker) believe is a true observation.
Here are examples:
์ฝ๋ก๋ ๋๋ฌธ์ ํ๊ตญ์ ๊ฐ๋ ๊ฒ ์๋๊ฒ ์ฃ ? - you aren't going to Korea because of CoVid, right?
๊ฐ๊ธฐ์ ๊ฑธ๋ ธ๊ธฐ ๋๋ฌธ์ ํ๊ต์ ์ค๋ ๊ฒ ์๋์๊ฒ ์ง์? - you didn't come to school because you caught a cold, right?
If you disagree with these statements, you are more than welcome to say so. The question/statement is just an observation that the speaker believes to be true. For example, you could say:
A: ์ฝ๋ก๋ ๋๋ฌธ์ ํ๊ตญ์ ๊ฐ๋ ๊ฒ ์๋๊ฒ ์ฃ ? B: ์๋์, ๋์ด ์์ด์ ํ๊ตญ์ ๋ชป ๊ฐ๊ฑฐ๋ ์ - No (I disagree that it's because of CoVid), I can't go because I don't have money.
BONUS:
~(์ผ)๋ฉด ์ข๊ฒ ๋ค; I hope ~
You can use this when you want to express the hopefulness of something. The literal translation is "it would be good if~". Here are some examples:
ํ๊ตญ์ ๊ฐ๋ฉด ์ข๊ฒ ์ด์ - I hope to go to Korea
์๋์ผ๋ฉด ์ข๊ฒ ์ด์ - I hope it goes well
์์ ํ๋ฉด ์ข๊ฒ ์ด์ - I hope I win a prize/award
Ooof!! Finally at the end! Hope this answered your question! As always, if there's anything that you still don't understand, you're more than welcome to send me a pm and we can sort it out together!
Happy Learning :)

Yesterday I sorted my โanimalsโ board by sections on Pinterest for different kinds and I decided to name every section with the Korean name of that animal like โ์โ โ๊ณฐโ โ์ค๋ผ์๋โ โ์์ญ์ดโ etc. and now I know SO MANY animals names and I remember them because now every time I want to add a pin to my board they ask me on where section I want it to go and I have to read the names again

The name of the book is โ ๋ฌธํ๊ฐ ์๋ ํ๊ตญ์ด ์ฝ๊ธฐ 1 โ or โ Reading Korean with culture 1 โ
First chapters are easy peazy and the book itself is very beginner friendly so give it a try if you want to improve your basic reading skills as a beginner. The book starts with 2 before reading questions on every chapter, a small list of vocabulary and it also has some cool exercises that help you see if you really understood the text or no, plus they sometimes make you write so it helps with that too!
I forgot to mention that it has the solutions of the exercises (not for the exercises that are like, the 2 before reading questions hshshs) at the back of the book so itโs good for self learners as well!!
I recommend it
Also, I never practice how to write Korean so Donโt mind my very basic phrases pls hshshshahshshsh
