Ferris Wheel | Oneshot

Roxas was beginning to get impatient when Axel finally stopped, setting the gas can down in front of an ancient looking generator situated next to the ferris wheel that he saw on the way here. Roxas immediately knew what Axel’s plan was. “No,” he said. “No no no no no! We are not getting on that thing.”

I turned my head when he groaned. Why should it matter what I think of him? I glanced over at his blond friend, who had chosen his own washing machine and was humming a tune to himself, uncaring.

"Hey," getting Axel's attention, I walked up to him, placing a hand on the machine's surface as leverage as I got up on tip toe, slowly leaning in and... sniffing his neck.

A faint aroma of stale sweat was creeping up from his shirt, but his skin smelled nice, at least. Not like B.O., like, cologne, and something musky.

“It’s been like three months since he did laundry,” Demyx spoke up.

I wrinkled my nose before turning to find an empty machine for myself, setting my basket on the floor and going through the motions of laundry day.

Should I ask if that meant he'd been wearing the same underwear for God-knows how long? Maybe it was best I didn't know...

The worst part of this whole realization was, Axel only lost a few attractiveness points. Damn I'm so vain.

Okay, I’m gonna do it. I’m going to ask him out. I am going to ask Roxas out. My eyes wander to the overflowing basket of laundry in the corner. Sniffing my shirt, I decide that it’s due time to do some laundry. I’m going to ask him out after I do my laundry. I scratch my balls, savoring the welcome distraction from the itchiness of dirty underwear.

“Why don’t you just free ball it?” Demyx asks as he leans up again the entrance of my room.

“That’s gross,” I say simply.

“Not as gross as wearing dirty undies,” he chuckles. “How long has it been now? Three months?”

“…No,” it had been over three months. “Whatever. Anyways, do you wanna come with me to do some laundry?”

“Yea, dude. Hold on.”

Demyx grabbed his overfull laundry basket and I grabbed mine. Equipped with the soiled clothes from moths past we made our way down to the laundry machines on the first floor of the apartment complex.

Shitty apartment complex, shitty washing machines. I wrestle to get the lid up for a few moments before Demyx comes over and lifts it up effortlessly. “Eager?” he asks, a smug look of his stupid face.

When his friend had helped him get it open, that's when I shifted the basket to my hip and began walking in. Then Axel said something that made me pause again, right as he had noticed me come in.

My lips parted slightly unconsciously in disgust, staring curiously at the red-head.

Deciding the silence was uncomfortable, I spoke up.

"Sure, I think we live on the same floor." I took the first step, letting the red head fall in step with me.

Luckily the green-eyed weirdo, Axel, was relatively normal on the walk back to the complex, even managing to crack a few jokes that weren't too lame.

"I heard you the first time," I giggled, I couldn't help it. And wow, this guy was huge. I mean... he's freakin' tall, with at least a full foot over me. I had to actually crane my neck to meet his gaze.
