Erin was five years old when she first encountered the sea and naturally, as all mothers are, hers was wary. She was against it, citing that her daughter was too young to be exposed to the burden and responsibility of being a goddess of something as vast and deep as the sea. Her father, on the other hand, had an entirely disparate opinion โ โ๐ข ๐จ๐ฐ๐ฅ ๐ฐ๐ณ ๐จ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ด๐ด ๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ฆ๐ด ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ด๐ต.โ, he would say. She was a sea goddess, whether she was five years old or not. Thenceforward, she has spent many of her waking hours visiting the sea, tending to her โduties, " gradually accepting her destiny; a role crafted entirely for her. During the first few years, she had to beg her father to bring her back to the very spot where she was bornโ on a yacht sailing above Marianas Trench. Later on, when she learned to turn herself into one of the very sea creatures she reigned over, she skipped asking and just disappeared altogether, sometimes for days on end, other times for weeks.
She learned the shape shifting by herself. It was serendipity combined with her natural affinity for her growing powers. As years pushed on, she learned most of her powers that wayโ self taught, completely on her own. Meanwhile, outside her mystical life of a goddess, Erin also spent time posing as a somewhat normal human. Her family spent a fair amount of their time forging this mundane faรงade of being a family of wealthy businessmen. Her father introduced her to the art of business when she was sixteen, wanting to prepare her for the future position he had set aside for her, another apparent destiny that was designed for her, and because of this, it deprived Erin the joys of being a child. Instead, she spent hours planning and wondering just how she would be able to fit and carry all these things, burdens, her father had planned for her onto her then still growing and frail shoulders.
Once, her mother had asked her how she was coping. โ๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ต ๐ฅ๐ฐ ๐บ๐ฐ๐ถ ๐ธ๐ข๐ฏ๐ต?โ It was a question that often echoed in her mind. She couldnโt answer her right then, but eventually, Erin realized she wanted what her father wanted for her. She wanted the sea as much as she wanted the entrepreneurโs lifestyleโ both, equally. Turns out he knew what she wanted even before she started truly thinking about it herself.ย
She attended a private dormitory school in Bethesda, Maryland, for her primary and secondary studies and took her bachelorโs degree at a popular university in Rockville, Maryland. Despite holding the title of โ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐ก๐๐๐ -๐จ๐๐๐๐ฅ ๐ค๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐๐ข๐๐ก๐ฎโโ for always breaking the rules and doing whatever she wanted, she was still able to make something out of her strong-will and defiant self. She took no helping handโ not from her father nor siblings, no matter their good intentions. She had this insatiable appetite for conquering things on her own, but more importantly, she did not wish to be a burden or deemed weak, she was much too proud for that. She expected so much from herself and this trait of hers sometimes alienated her from her loved ones, a flaw she will seem to never overcome.
Ultimately, her family sent her to Los Angeles, where she would then receive her Masters in Marketing from the University of California Los Angeles. It was her first time being truly away from family. There, she started working for the Alstreim Group of Companies and during her downtime and school breaks, she was either taking fashion classes in New York or enjoying the nights accompanied by booze. It was in LA that she first tasted any type of liquor and ever since then, she could never seem to have enough of it. She was hookedโ an addiction if you will. She became an alcoholic. After graduation, she met Ino, around whom her world then revolved. They started their own family and in late 2018, she brought Isla Astralis to life, building it from the ground up with her sister, Enya, who helped shape Astralis to be the wonder it is today. Blood, sweat and tears turned to beauty.
Her parents had finally thought to retire and spend the rest of their lives back at Etro, naturally, Erin inherits their entire family business along with her eldest sister Enya. A seemingly beautiful cover to an obvious punishment for being the black sheep and the โlaziestโ of the family. She became the President of the Alstreim Group of Companies and is continuously seeking to train and better her leadership skills, which is the cause of most of her stress and the reason for her constant disappearing act. Training, meetingsโeverything was just too much at times.
In a house party with her friends, an idea out if impulse, wherein her friend Mandy heard something magical in her voice when she started singing. A business proposal was discussed and was eventually offered as Mandy knew a handful of influential people. Before she even knew it, she had signed a record deal and started her career as a singerโanother job occupation she added to her roster. She proved to be quite the artistโone of the most successful ones currently.
