Marissa didnât really have time to spend all day at the grocery store. Her daughter needed picked up from school in a hour, then sheâd promised she would call into a clientâs house to touch up her roots before she had to rush home to put dinner in the oven. Dinner that currently hadnât been bought and was either going to be beef or chicken from the options in her hand. âPaisley is refusing to eat beef. She wonât even try it,â She complained, sighing as she stared down the package of food the eight year old would no doubt push around her plate for twenty minutes before switching her gaze to the safer option, âWhich means I should probably buy it, right? I should encourage her to try new things.â But was it really worth the argument, apparently sheâd passed on the stubborn genes and it was panning out to be a long day.
It had been over two weeks since Felicity bought any type of groceries. Her cabinets were practically empty, unless you counted canned foods. Out of indolence, she had been buying too much Ubereats or Grubhub. Some days her mind was so mentally exhausted, preparing a meal was almost an unfeasible task, but she knew she couldn't become reliant on fast-food as she had in college, especially her masterâs program. .Strolling through the isle, Felicityâs auburn eyes glanced at the items packed on the shelves, uncertain of what she even wanted. Unexpectantly, she heard a female speak, though it was evident more so out loud than to her. A soft and amorous laugh split from the rims of her mouth, with an uneven smile spreading across both laterals of her face. â I can sometimes barely remember to feed myself, I couldnât imagine having to worry about a kid.â She shrugged lightly. â The therapist in me would say it is so essential for children to grasp the notion that they will not always be able to control situations to their liking, such as dinner but you're the one that has to deal with them all day, not me.âÂ

âOh come on!â Sophia pleaded, trying to give her best pouty lips and puppy dog eyes.  âWe need a girlâs night at the bar, we havenât had one in forever. Please?â The truth was Sophia just needed to get out of the awkardness that was surrounding her home. Between Anaâs death and her momâs affair and live in boyfriend, Sophia couldnât stand to be home for very long. Sure they were supposed to be the perfect family from the outside, but they were far from it in actuality. So she was trying anything and everything to set up plans.  âWhat if I personally wake myself up early just to come over and deliver you coffee tomorrow? I think thatâs a very fair trade. I promise we donât even have to get crazy. Just a hang out time.â
âYou know it is possible to have a girlâs night when I donât work the morning afterâ As the words slid from the crest of Felicityâs lip, one eyebrow arched. Immediately she stopped moving and turned her frame towards Sophia, as she placed the palm of her hand on the side of her hip. â Why tonight? â In truth, the girls didnât know a lot about each otherâs home situation, sometimes it was better that way. Felicity didnât exactly have a sob story, her parents made it out of their financial rut, though the lies they had hidden from her for years wasnât easy to process either. A muted exhale fell flat from the rims of her mouth at Sophiaâs following remark. Felicity was a softie, and easily caved to anyoneâs needs. âNo coffee, buy me two frosty donuts?â A soft smile crept between both corners of her lips. Caffeine always added to her anxiety and because of that, she learned to live without it.
An exhausted sigh fell from the line of Felicityâs lips as she threw her bags down, next to the bench. Lately, Felicity had become so engrossed in her favorite authorâs new novel, which had just been released days ago. Whenever she had a moment's peace, she tried to get in a chapter or at least a few pages. During break, her coworkers liked to go to lunch , but a lot of times Felicity declined their offer, and spent her hour outside sitting in this very spot. It was peaceful and stopped her mind from wandering to her lethal thoughts.
Felicity had never made friends very easily, instead kept to herself and would much rather become lost in a good story. If it werenât for her mental health advocacy and her patients, she may have gone into storytelling at some point,  but she loved what she did and wouldnât change it for anything. To her surprise, she heard someone approaching and immediately lifted her gaze up from the book. â Oh god, do you need a seat?â  Felicity began moving her belongings hastily. â Look at me just spreading out like this. Iâm so sorryâ With the words leaving her lips, a small smile crept between the corners of her mouth.Â
Coffee in hand, Astrid finally felt ready to face the day. She might not have gotten a decent nights sleep, and her niece might but under investigation for murder, but concealer did wonders to hide the bags under her eyes and she was not going to let something as trivial as sleep deprivation get in her way.
âIâm telling you, if I ever manage to create a caffeinated IV drip, the money I save on coffee will pay off my practice and give me a down payment on my very own island.â
A soft laugh split from Felicity's lips, as she shook her head. â I donât understand the hype over coffeeâ With the words leaving her mouth, Felicity stared at the pink straw sitting in her cup. â Donât kill the messenger but I donât like the tasteâ She shrugged her shoulders before taking a sip of her hot ginger tea. Immediately it relaxed her, feeling the warmth running through her body slowly.
â Each to their own I guessâ She spoke softly before taking another sip. In truth, caffeine always added to her anxiety and because of that, Felicity learned to live without it. â Do you drink that flavored stuff from Starbucks that so many of my coworkers swear by or just black?âÂ
âSophia, I am not doing that tonight, I have work tomorrow.â The words fell from Felicityâs lips in an adamant tone, as she pulled her bag over her shoulders. The two girls had an unlikely friendship. Sophia was different than her in every way imaginable but yet somehow Felicity got along well with her. It was odd to have a girlfriend, or anyone for that matter, especially when she didnât have a lot of friends growing up. Maybe it wouldn't have been so hard if she had a least a sister but her parents took that away from her. Much of Felicityâs time had been spent in the books or at countless therapists.  â god what do I put in this thingâ She mumbled under her breath, as she shifted her bag off her shoulder slightly. In truth, she didnât know all of what Sophia wanted to do, but the safer answer was always no, especially knowing she had a client at 8 in the morning. â Next time, okay.â Felicity lied through her teeth.Â

penelope was in the library, which was business as usual to anybody who knew her. sheâd been a proper history nerd growing up, and there are just some things you never quite grow out of. libraries had always felt a bit like second homes to her, and she often visited on her not-so-good days just because the setting could cheer her up at least a little. sheâd woken up that morning feeling like today could be one of those types of days, so sheâd made her way to the library, hoping to avoid the feeling of stress before it could fully appear.Â
penny browsed through the shelves, not looking for any title in particular. after a few minutes of this, a cover caught her eye. she reached up to grab it and quickly realized the book was too far up. penny couldnât help the small frown that appeared on her face â she didnât hate her height, but sheâd be a liar if she said it didnât get in her way, and with today already giving her some problems, this was just the cherry on top of a cake she didnât want. frown still intact and brows furrowed, penny got up on her tiptoes and reach up with her other arm, hoping that would get her closer to the book. and it did get her closer, but the book was still out of her reach. penelope let her hand fall to her side, and took a deep breath to smooth over the slight annoyance before reaching to try again, as though her arms would magically get longer. little did she know, someone had been watching her little struggle this whole time.
A soft smile crept between both corners of Felicityâs lips, as she noticed a woman trying to reach a book from the shelf. For the last three hours, Felicity was engrossed in her favorite authorâs novel, which had just been released days ago. She had never made friends very easily, instead kept to herself and would much rather become lost in a good story. If it werenât for her mental health advocacy and her patients, she may have gone into storytelling at some point, but she loved what she did and wouldnât change it for anything. Indolently, Felicity's feet paced towards the other, who couldn't be much older than her. As she approached the woman, there was an odd familiarity to her, although Felicity couldn't place her finger on it and was certain the two never met.
â Do you need a hand?â The question fell from the crest of Felicityâs mouth, as her smile spread across the lines of his lips. In truth, she wasnât that much taller, maybe 5â˛6. When Felicity was younger, she was always envious of her motherâs stature. Her mom was tall, slender, and beautiful, everything Felicity wasn't, but over the years, she had become content with her height, at least most days anyways. â I am not that much taller, but I may be able to reach it for youâ Her tone was gentle, as she brushed some strands of her bronze hair out of her face. Before the other could respond, Felicity got on her tiptoes and reached her right arm out towards the top shelf.
Ryan is glad for this beautiful day outside she starts to walk around with her camera and would start takes pictures in the park of about everything it made her smile then she sees someone giving them a smile. âHello are you enjoying your day?â she asked them putting her camera down.
Unexpectantly, Felicity sees a woman carrying a camera. Her dark brown eyes travel up, with a small smile forming between both laterals of her cheeks. â Oh god, please tell me I didnât get in your picture.â As the words fall from the brims of her mouth, Felicity brushes a few strands of her hair behind her ears. â My day was alright, and yours?â Truthfully Felicity had not had a good day in a while, but you donât exactly tell your life story to a random person on the street.Â
âwhat if i cry at graduation? is that, like super embarrassing?! will i lose the respect of all my students?â luci joked, rubbing the back of his neck. heâd gotten pretty attached to his seniors and the thought of them moving on was making him just a little emotional.Â
âOh please was that even a question?â Felicity tilted her to the side, as both corners of her lips bent into a half-smirk, with a small laugh following. She may not be a teacher, but she loved the students at the school just as much. Typically Felicity could only counsel them once a week, nonetheless, it was still worth it, especially when noting the progress some made.  â I think the better question is, how long will you last until the waterworks.â Her eyes moved away from the male, holding in another laugh resting on the crest of her lips.Â
as the spring came around and reared its head at natalia and the prospect of graduation came creeping up on her, she could feel the pressure building every day. she kept herself busy, for sure, but that didnât necessarily mean that everything she was doing to keep busy was wise. the girl had a tendency to wear herself a little thin, as her mind went a million miles a minute as she tried to keep everything straight in her head. she was exhausted, to say the least, and that was becoming increasingly evident as time went on, so much so that she hadnât even realized until it was almost too late that the person in front of her was speaking to her. âi promise you that i have been listening to everything youâve said,â she spoke with certainty, pushing her hair out of her face. âbut, just so weâre on the same page, repeat everything you just said.â
The left corner of Felicityâs lip bent. Her eyes sat on the girl for a brief moment. It was apparent their mind was preoccupied, to say the least. She had been there too many times to count. Felicity's glance dropped to her feet, holding in a slight laugh. She loved spending the day at the high school, though typically she could only find space on Fridays. At times it was weird being back in the halls, especially when most thought she was a student herself. â I know you arenât listening to meâ The words spread from her lips in a still tone, as she arched one eyebrow. Her glanced shifted back up to the girl, with a smirk almost sitting between both cheeks. Felicity tugged at her hair tie around her wrist. â I wonât nag you or anything, just, try to slow down a bit. Senior year can be a little hectic, I get it.â Felicity popped off the band and put her bronze hair in a messy ponytail.
â(ALISHA BOE / FEMALE / SHE/HER) is that [FELICITY SCOTT] over there? the [ MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST ] is [TWENTY-FOUR]. i heard theyâre a/an [ CANCER]- which is probably why they are so [ INSIGHTFUL + EMPATHETIC], but also [ WORKAHOLIC + DISTANT]. did you hear that they [ CALLED OFF HER ENGAGEMENT WHEN SHE REALIZED SHE WAS IN LOVE WITH HER OTHER BOYFRIEND]
What is your characterâs name?
Felicity Ann Scott. When Felicity was a little baby her name was too difficult to pronounce, therefore, her parents came up with Lissie. Over the years that nickname has stuck with those who are closest to her; however, not including her coworkers. She loves both names, therefore, she does not mind being called by either.
FACTS
Felicity grew up fairly different than her friends. They all came from a family of generational money, which was not her reality. In fact, for the first early years of her life, she can vaguely remember her parents struggling. They lived paycheck to paycheck, barely making ends meet. Sometimes they had to rely on food stamps.
Aside from the financial wrestle, her home life wasnât too different than anyone else, or so she believed for a good portion of it. She assumed they lacked any disfunction, which couldn't be said about most of her friends. A good amount of her friend's households had no stability. It wouldnât be until later, Felicity learned of a lie that would destroy her relationship with her parents.
Soon Felicity's life began to change when her parents became successful entrepreneurs and wealth hit them almost overnight. The Scottâs could now provide Felicity a life of luxury. She never once again needed more than she had, in fact, she had more than he needed. Despite that all, she remembered where they started and appreciated everything she was given.Â
Growing up Felicity was always quiet and preferred to keep to herself over spending time with friends or kids her own age. In fact, there were even some years where Felicity probably only brought some of her classmates to her home a couple of times. Friendship was hard for her. She often felt to be a burden to most or feared no one truly wanted her around.Â
Despite not having a lot of friends, reading people has always been a gift of hers and she tried her best to help people in whatever way she could.
When Felicity hit early teen years, she developed severe mental health issues. She struggled with depression and anxiety. Eventually, she was able to get help, with the right therapist and medication; though it is better, she still struggles with it. After she graduated high school, Felicity went to The University of Michigan. She graduated with a psychology major, shortly after she became a therapist. Felicity decided to specialize in Mental Health in hopes to help others who also have the same struggles as she does.Â
Recently Felicity learned she had a sister, who was given up when they were young. It hurt her to find out that her parents not only did that to her sister but lied to her for years. Although she doesn't remember the girl, Felicity can almost feel the pain she is certain that it caused.
Felicity knows a little about her sister from what she was able to get from her mother. Since then, the relationship between her parents has been strained. She is unaware that Penelope Wilson is her long lost sister. Â
Felicity also recently ended an engagement with her high school sweetheart whom she has been cheating on for over a year. Although she told him it was because work was hectic and she needed time. Felicity has fallen for the other boy she was dating and though he is rough around the edges, she believes she is in love and that scares her.Â
With the ongoing integration for Ana's case, every Friday Felicity offers therapy sessions for any high school student who is having a difficult time handling what has happened. She wants to ensure that everyone is mentally taking care of themselves through this all.Â
