my playlist and album art for scara

i finished childe’s for his birthday in 2024, but struggled to finish scara’s art because i felt like my drawing skills weren’t capable of completing it at the level i envisioned.

on the other hand, the songlist itself was rather easy. turns out my favorite character has a lot in common with my favorite types of music, so i was able to just plunder my pre-existing emo playlists to make his haha. the hardest part was rearranging the playlist — i spent over two hours last night going through and shuffling things around. it felt oddly satisfying, like untangling a big knot of yarn..

scara’s playlist follows his story: from his beginnings as a hollow puppet, abandoned for shedding tears in his sleep; to his erratic, resentful years as kunikuzushi; to his desperate search for meaning as scaramouche; to his realization of just how deeply he was lied to, and atoning self-destruction … and then, hopefully, finally peace and a quiet life as wanderer.
