is there any physics/safety related reason there aren't any roller coasters with interlocking helixes (helices?)? because interlocking loops exist, albeit sparingly. it might be cool
im trying to picture that but I canβt, I can only picture a helix and a loop interlocking, how exactly would two interlocking helixes work? /genq
Like this?
or
or whatever this is
I think they just haven't figured that one out yet, ur onto something. they need to get on it stat
b&m invert
im having trouble getting the perspective right but i think this would work best if the track was banked out like a b&m helix
this solves the actual issue i think this design has, which is clearance for the near-misses... but top gun duels are pretty common on dueling coasters these days so that isn't a huge issue
my hot take for thoosies is that not every ride you like has to be a thrill ride. "i like guardians of the galaxy because it's more thrilling than tron" these are objectively both family coasters what are you TALKING about
the thing is, obviously you're allowed to like whatever kind of ride you want. but if you can't admit to yourself that you have complex enough tastes to like rides that are outside of your usual scope of favorite rides, you're gonna try to make everything into a nail.
it's like. these people are so close to understanding that rides can be fun regardless of thrill level, and being able to handle high-G rides doesn't mean you can't have fun on gentle rides. but because their ego is based on how much of a thrillseeker they are, they genuinely cannot fathom that they would rank a well-done family coaster so highly.
like you can like guardians because it's fun. you can like guardians because you think the backwards launch is fun. you can like guardians because the ride system is unique. but if you're actually out here saying guardians is a thrill ride you're exposing yourself. if you're a ride enthusiast but you won't give yourself the freedom to enjoy the full range of ride experiences... that's on you
disney describes guardians as a "thrill ride" but that's because they're disney. (they also describe slinky dog dash as a thrill ride). height requirement isn't a great metric for determining thrill level, but generally speaking, thrill rides do not have a height requirement of 42". except for tower of terror, who allows 40" tall children to be traumatized because it's a seatbelt ride. also guardians isn't better than tron but that's for another post

Happy June to Bowser, I hope she's doing okay
aside from how downright mean spirited it is to spend years begging for a theme park to close because you hope their rides will be relocated to your park, i also wish thoosies understood that railblazer is a maintenance and capacity nightmare and no park would take it except under extreme duress. unless sfft wants it for parts to extend their ww's lifespan by a season and a half
like if we want to take a rare credit with a sub-500 hourly capacity from cga and move it to another property, psycho mouse would at least be a reasonable undertaking for the park's maintenance team

Guys I know it's almost pride and the B in LGBT this June stands for "boy I sure love roller coasters"

disney should have kept dinosaur around for a few months so they could have a festive world cup overlay. concept art:
Magnum xl 200 would be so good if it was good
GO ON ANON AND ASK ME ANYTHING YOU WANT
Anybody going to the boardwalk tonight for the annual lost boys showing?
Really funny when you go to your own Tumblr blog and it starts suggesting blogs with similar themes to yours like nooooooooo Tumblr I don't talk to that person because their friend group ringleader decided I was evil five years ago and her ex (who she cheated on) sent me a "sorry for acting weird around you I wasn't allowed to talk to you" text and confirmed she still hates me

i wish more theme park enthusiasts understood that this attitude of "i'm going to go drink butterbeer and buy harry potter robes but i'm gay and i support #translives" is deeply embarassing to any queer person outside the theme parks bubble. like i know theme park fans are used to this because this is the same community who still regularly gets upset about the human trafficking scene being removed from pirates, or the retheme of splash mountain in general, but.
There is no good reason to stay in the HP fandom. There is no way to "ethically" keep the fandom alive.
"Just pirate it!" Nope! Piracy still helps JK Rowling!
"But I'm autistic and it's my fixation!" I'm also autistic and once upon a time it was also my fixation. I have some advice for that here and over here.
"I like the aesthetic!" Go watch the works of Guillermo del Toro, or go read my post on copying HP's aesthetic.
"I just want to play in a wizard-themed setting and I'm not good at worldbuilding!" Neither was JK Rowling! In fact, her worldbuilding is so bad that you can probably do better than her without too much trouble! Also I made some random tables to help develop ideas.
