So, y’all remember those commissions I did for Danganronpa Operation VK? Well, after I did those, I went and read the whole thing, and boy was that a good decision. Lots of really good murder whodunits, excellent characters who live up to their potential, and a story that goes in directions I would not have expected.
Anyway, there’s a bunch of characters that aren’t part of the class proper who show up in intermission segments, and I needed to draw them, so in order:
Reiji or Reiko Ittosai, Ultimate Attorney and walking AA reference. Y’know how AA’s always got those super-young prodigy prosecutors? They’re one of those, with healthy doses of genderfluidity and bombast. The hero of the sidestory.
Ruri Bessho, Ultimate Data Analyst, and the protagonist of the sidestory. Crucial distinction! Rides a motorcycle while wearing a dress and takes being the protagonist very seriously.
Blake Mirabeau, Ultimate Geographer and the most moe character in the entire story. Jitsu wa, his manner of speaking is honto ni annoying ja not, boku is telling kimi-tachi, but it is cho interest at the very little, desu wa! …He’s Welsh, and he’s still learning, give him a break!
Natsuhi Miyashiro, Ultimate Mariner and assistant to the Ultimate Attorney. She takes her job seriously, which she’d tell you is more than can be said for her associate.
Kotone Suzukage, Ultimate Marathon Runner and token normal person, is here because Ruri saw that Ittosai had a sidekick and decided that as the protagonist she should also have a sidekick. Pretty plain for an Ultimate.
Saburo Kirihito, Ultimate Escape Artist and Raging Wolf of Minami, would rather be taking a nap right about now. He’s also straight out of a Yakuza game and has a terrifying reputation among the criminal element??? He’d be scary if he weren’t too chill to bother punching your face in these days.
You know the main protagonist? Rin? This is her mom, when she was a teen, which is relevant for reasons. (She shows up in some flashbacks, and she’s cute, and I had to draw her.)
And then there’s… Kei Sagami. She’s not an Ultimate, but she comes up a few times, so she gets art anyway. She’s an old friend of Stella Masaki’s, but their relationship has been on the wrong track lately.
