You CANNOT convince me that Daisaku Bandai’s whole character isn’t BLATANTLY racist.
He literally dies SECOND episode, and doesn’t do ANYTHING before it. We don’t know ANYTHING about him as a character and he just serves to move the plot forward
His design. His design just look at it. Lowkey having the only man of colour have a cartoony design also feels off, but maybe I’m overthinking it.
His high pitched voice. NO OTHER CHARACTER has a voice that high pitched, and it’s done to be funny. It just feels a bit weird, but forgiveable if EVERYTHING ELSE was fine
WILDLY INSENSITIVE BUT HIM BEING THE ULTIMATE FARMER. THE ULTIMATE FARMER. AGAIN, FORGIVEABLE IF HE ACTUALLY DID SOMETHING.
At the end of the day, Bandai was done SO MUCH injustice and could have been a cool character if he wasn’t an obvious caricature or” gag” character

Go look up bandai redesigns. They’re all way better.

Chibi Mermay - Daisaku
Since making Artworks for all the side characters would take me another 2-3 years I decided to take a shortcut and release their designs as Chibis instead. This way I can finish up the Mermaid series this year and start a new series afterwards!
I hope that’s still fine with everyone.
Daisaku’s fins are based of Krill.
I’m thinking about making these Stickers or Acrylic Charms in the future. I’d love to get some feedback from you guys, if anyone would be interested in that.
Sakumo/Dai is a surprisingly rare ship, and I might have to remedy that... after all my other wips xD
See i've never really liked it, but that's mostly cuz it impeeds on Kakashi and Gai as a ship for me XD i am clinging to my boys
But sakumo and dai do have cut eopportunities, they were basicly a single fathers meet cute XD
Headcannon
Sakumo likes to visit Dai whenever he's home from missions, bringing him flowers and helping him to train by just letting Dai take shots at him, or training their taijutsu only together,
After Skaumo's death (cuz sad headcannon), Dai picks a flower every day from the yamanaka shop and takes it to lay on Sakumo's grave and sits there for an hour talking to him. Telling him about his day just like he used to when Sakumo was still alive, and assuring Sakumo knows that Kakashi is looked after.
