excuse my very messy format, i want to get this out before volume 3 drops tmr. I may repost this cleaned up or added to depending on how volumes 3-5 go :p

Workshopping the theory that volume 2 foreshadows another universe where Valentine ends up/is still with Draculaura.

This came from an early read theory I had that Wingston was gaudy!universes Valentine, He has Val’s general aeststics, from the dark hair with pink tips, the light pink skin, the fangs/ears/face shape and is wearing exactly what I’d imagine a Val in this universe would be in.

Drac is the ONLY one not with her (in someway) canon partner. (Who by the way, is also seen in the background. Claude does exist in this world!!) therefor making it possible that there’s a universe it’s the same for Val or spelldon

This writer also doesn’t (thus far) tend to introduce new characters to fill gaps, instead using niche canon characters in their place. (who would use a niche doll exclusive G2 character in your comic and then throw in some new guy to be Dracs lover in this one world, in a random background panel that would’ve worked just as well with Claude for just. No reason )

Of course that point excludes the cartographer but it seems to be a pretty popular theory he’s a version of Val that’s gotten lost in time in some way or another which I think is super cool, but regardless I don’t think his (and the goop. Guys) existence really disprove anything. Assuming he is a new character you can’t just throw any random person to be the keeper of the boomuda triangle without messing up their or the comics lore. Not to mention the power, age, disconnection from mh etc needed for spelldon to be able to intern under him.

They also went out of their way to include Wingston and Draculaura talking, and specifically about if they would be together in other universes, when we as the audience know their not. And again, why not just use her and Claude, why not use one of the other couples there?

Ofc it works narratively since the point of this part was how alone Val feels because he belives he’s losing spelldon. But he very specifically states not only if this universes spelldon is with someone else, but if that universes VAL is with someone else. Not alone. Someone else. Why would he be worried about him being with someone other than spelldon when his whole arc in this comic and specifically this section has been the fear of being alone or abandoned by spelldon.

This, to me seems to be foreshadowing that this (or another universes valentine) is with someone else and thus far I think it makes the most sense to pair him with Draculaura. Especially when in this world she is with someone who does not exist in the monster high universe and has a strong resemblance to Val.

I’m not entirely confident on this theory becoming true, esp with the author mentioning how fond they are of “I’d find you in every universe. But regardless I really like the idea of it being revealed that there is a world where him and spelldon maybe never met, where he never learns from his mistakes and stays with draculaura or continues to feed off of girls hearts. The idea of him seeing a version of himself who never changed, who feels alone despite his many “lovers.” And realizes he needs to get his act together and talk to the one person who he truly loves.
