These 2 of my entries in the Triangle Agency Fanzine are related: they're both from a mission I made for my Field Team spotlighting one of the Agents: Lettie Pierrot.
Lettie started out as a Caretaker with an emotional support Cactus named Sweetie that she got after a breakup.
In time, she grew past her dependence on doting on the cactus. But the cactus grew independent too-- from the network of Anomalous Surveillance the Agency had planted throughout the city.
The SUCCULENT (Secure Ultimate Containment Cells & UniLateral ENtrapmenT) activated with an unexpected and catastrophic force. All 3 Field Teams in the Branch were dispatched to deal what was rapidly combining into Cactus Godzillas.
I planned for these Double Minor Anomalies to be created by 2 regular sized Minor Anomalies combining, on the way to becoming a brand new Major Anomaly the Field Team has to deal with.
Here are my sketches! Didn't have time before the mission to finish the large one in the center-- this would've been an example of a new Major Anomaly.
Below is my pureref board, I thought it would be interesting to combine features of different cactus species with corals.
In our game, the Agency got the original clippings of these anomalies from an aquatic dimension called Area Z. (the Agency had access to Area Z behind the "door" that Agent Donny Santone alludes to in the mission report above!)
By the end of the mission, Sweetie, Lettie's own cactus, broke away from the hivemind. With Lettie's help, she reformed into her own Anomaly with a brand new focus.
"We grew together, and we grew apart, but that's okay! Because you're still growing!"
