Smoky haze from the massive bushfire that's about 20km from work. And with another one even closer at 10km but not as big. The church has done extensive clearing as a fire break. From creating the prosthetic on a 2 litre coke bottle the night before. Latex and cotton wool. Still very much learning. Next time I'll actually drag the cotton wool strands through the latex before laying it in place rather than attempting to put latex down over the dry wool. It wasn't coming together. But hey. Been doing it less than a month. It's all a learning process. And let's face it. An event starts at 4. You knock off work at 3....almost an hour drive home. I did well to get to The Entrance by 5.30. Storm round 1. First of 3 storms in the afternoon. All 3 dropped hail. These were approximately 10 cent piece sized...or 2cm wide and came from the rear end of the system. Had thought it had passed over us when it came down. The second storm hit after I got home and was in the shower. It sounded horrible and I hoped the blankets I'd thrown over the car would protect it. They did. And round 3 came a while later....all around the same size. Yup. Storm season is here.
