“The Hamster and the Rat”
Once there was tiny thin hamster whose living under the bush of a garden. He was
having a happy life with himself. In a usual sunny day, he was planning to look some
food under a house that is near to his house. While he was walking towards the house,
he saw a little hole and went to it. In a few minutes, he reached the house and started
to look for food. He saw plants that are bearing juicy looking fruits and found little
pieces of left overs that fell from the kitchen’s house. Before the night came, he
managed to get home. On the second day, he went back to the house and this time,
he met a rat. The rat was also thin and tiny. The hamster didn’t know that the rat was
also looking for food on the said house. After they met, the hamster started to talk.
“Are you also looking for food here?” said the hamster. “Yes, in fact I don’t usually
come here because I don’t want to get fat. I can see that you always come here to
eat some food. You are getting fatter you know that and you look disgusting.” the rat
replied. The hamster felt very sad and continued looking for food. When they both
decided to leave, they encountered a man and saw them. The man felt disgusted
when he saw the rat so the rat ran away because he was scared of the man. The
hamster tried to run also but he was too fat to run faster. When the man saw the
hamster, for him, the hamster was very adorable because it was tiny and chubby. The
man decided to bring the hamster to his home and become his pet and they both lived
happily ever after.
Moral Lesson: Everyone has its own kind of beauty.
“Accept Me”
A new day has began,
Time flies so fast,
The day I met you,
Until now will never last.
How beautiful life is,
Thinking about you,
Thinking about everything I do,
Hoping that you’ll let me run into you.
Give me a chance,
To prove my love to you,
Everything I will do,
Just love me and accept me too.
I tried so hard and got so far,
It doesn’t matter to me,
As long as you are there,
My day is already complete.
Give me a chance,
To prove my love to you,
Everything I will do,
Just love me and accept me too.

“Sana’y Matupad”
Buhay na may pangarap
Pagod at pagsisikap
Ang aking munting hiling
Sana nama’y tuparin
Sumisikat na araw
Lumulubog na buwan
Bituing nagniningning
Ang hiling ay tuparin.
Story behind “Bob Ong”
Bob Ong is the pseudonym of a contemporary Filipino author known for using conversational writing technique to create humorous and reflective depictions of Philippine life. The author's actual name and identity is unknown.
Bob Ong started to pursue writing after dropping out of college. His pseudonym came about when the author was working as a web developer and a teacher, and he put up the Bobong Pinoy website in his spare time. The name roughly translates to "Dumb Filipino," used fondly as a pejorative term. Although impressed," Bob Ong notes, "my boss would've fired me had he known I was the one behind it." When someone contacted him after mistaking him as an actual person named Bob Ong, his famous pseudonym was born. The site received a People's Choice Philippine Web Award for Weird/Humor in 1998, but was taken down after former President Joseph "Erap" Estrada was ousted after the Second People Power Revolution.
According to Nida Ramirez of Visprint, which eventually became Bob Ong's publisher, the author wrote on Bobong Pinoy that he wanted to get a book published. Ramirez, who became a fan of Bobong Pinoy, approached him and started exchanging messages, which eventually led to the publication of ABNKKBSNPLAko?!, Bob Ong's first book, in 2001. The author has since written and published ten more books until 2018.
Two of his works have been adapted into film. ABNKKBSNPLAko?! The Movie was released in 2014 directed by Mark Meily. Then in 2016, Lumayo Ka Nga Sa Akin was shown in theaters, directed also by Meily, with Chris Martinez and Andoy Ranay. Both movies were produced by VIVA Films. In addition, Bob Ong also played a part in translating some volumes of the Filipino comic book series Trese by Budjette Tan, which was included by the Philippine Department of Education as supplemental material for use in schools.
There have been occasional confusions between Bob Ong and Chinese-Filipino author Charlson Ong. However, Bob Ong himself refutes this in his account in Stainless Longganisa, saying his surname is not "Ong" and neither is he even Filipino-Chinese. The family name was instead derived from wordplay on the name of his website. In a 2016 interview published in Philippine Star when asked why he chose his pseudonym, Bob Ong explained it as a "concept of not embracing celebrity which is foreign to most people," and was never intended to be "mysterious".
“Magical Tree”
Magic, are special powers to make things happen that would usually be impossible. It could be, spells, powers, and even chants. Magic is beautiful that anything you could do when you use magic.
The story started with a young beautiful maiden whose sleeping at the grass. Grasses beside a hill with a huge tree. At first, she did not know that the tree has a magic. Many days had passed and she notice something strange. Resting while looking at the beautiful skies. Imagining how magical tree gives magic. After she had rested, she stood at the front of the tree and wished. She waited until the tree responses. For a while, she lost hope until she gained magic. She was very happy that she could do telekinesis and even fly.
But before she left the tree, something whispered to her and told her to go back before 5 pm. Many hours had passed and she’s still enjoying the powers that she had. She flew up and down above and below the clouds. Because of enjoyment, she forgot that she had to go back to the tree. When the clock struck at 4:30 pm, she remembered the thing she need to do. She realized that she had to go back to the tree. A minute before 5 pm, she reached the hill. She had to touch the tree before the said time. But before she could do that, the clock already struck at 5. The tree began to sparkle and she vanished after. She disappeared but actually the tree took her, she became one of the leaves in the tree. Swinging within a branch of a tree made her enter life miserable.
Imagine how many leaves does a tree have. A hundreds? Thousands? Millions? I guess its uncountable. If you’re willing enough to spare your life for magic, then be like her.
Long time no see, my friend.
