i feel like sometimes people make the crows seem so much older than they are, especially wylan and jes but really all of them.

although wylan says he's sixteen, matthias says something along the lines of "yeah that bitch is not sixteen" so i've always thought of him as fifteen
nina is probably seventeen/eighteen, though it isn't explicitly mentioned, and we know matthias is older than her and he's eighteen
matthias is eighteen and will forever be eighteen (sorryyyyy)
i guess the rewrite might have something to do with this but like lets think

and despite this wylan controls the legal flow of money in ketterdam after ck, kaz brekker controls part of the not-so-legal flow of money/indentures, inej ghafa is out there captaining a ship and hunting fucking slaving ships, and nina zenik is one of the most powerful soldiers in ravka, jesper fahey....well jesper loves his boyfriend very much (and apparently is involved in the stock market?) (also he can read to him) (he has a very soothing baritone)
oh also matthias is dead so there's that
so yeah they're kids. which makes the whole book sadder/more disturbing especially matthias and inej's storylines
