To create soft curves from marble

To find beauty in the mundane.

Your face engraved in memory,

your words echoing in my brain.

Don't you see the art around you?

Laughter and love.

Tears and heartache.

My love, you cannot have one without the other.

Look for patterns on floorboards,

faces on walls and muddy paw prints on tiles.

Soon you'll find the art in everything around you.

Then I hope you turn to the mirror and see the art standing in front of it too.

It's true what they say about turning soft when you're loved right.

They got a minor details wrong though. They usually say they right man will turn you soft. Make you feminine. Make you... a woman.

I was naïve enough to believe it too.

After a long overdue reflection I came to the conclusion that any person that loves you right will soften you. Friends that call you sweetheart and lovebug will slowly chip away at the void of being alone. People that call you just because they couldn't wait to tell you something is a form of love.

Existing in another person's mind actively. Not just a fleeting thought. 23 years have passed and I still believe I'm only known out of convenience. Out of the habit of always being around. Until I wake up in the morning to messages not out of necessity but out of habit.

I am alive. I exist. I matter. I am soft because I am known. I've always taken care of everyone but rarely had someone taken care of me. Now, now I have people around me that just aim to be there regardless of the situation.

Having emotions is so detrimental to the brand.

In another life, you hold a gun in your hands and I guide it to my heart so you know where to shoot.

In another life, I place flowers in your hair and we rot in the garden together.

In another life, we laugh until we cry and drink liquor at the beach on warm summer nights.
