This is the last line of the first chapter of my currently untitled Sci-Fi Fantasy WIP. I’m planning on having a lot of fun in space with this (likely brief) story, so expect more where this came from. 

“The Luxelion had flown from the world fast as lightning. Basarol’s dense veil of fog gave way to the overriding clarity of space and Joan could untangle from hesitation. She could focus for a time on her procedure, the raw acceleration of the space-limousine, and the abyssal cosmic heaven ahead.”

It’s two lines technically but it works. The last line is 22 words so I’m tagging 22:

She stares out the window at the cloudy night sky, the rain lashing the window, and the wind keening a hollow cry.

Whoo! 22 words! That is a lot! Don’t feel obligated to continue this.

“… No, sweetheart.” Her sisters glanced at each other before turning back to her. “What we do is not important. You will be important.”

“You’re important to me.”
