‘  pray tell,  is that a joke?  ’  either way,  the master of shadows rewards him with a laugh,  a smooth wave of an arm reclaimed—all marked flesh turned to shadow and back again before his hand hits his side.  ‘  more than once,  can’t you see?  but oh,  have you?  ’

‘  have i ever been anything less?  ’  a cursory glance is offered, passive red and gold flicked from the decorated walls back to the enigma that is khada jhin until he switches, once parted lips curling into a wolfish grin.  ‘  or is this your idea of a compliment?  ’
