What is Grounding? 🌎✨
Grounding or “earthing” is the practice of attuning your body and energy to the Earth’s frequency. The Earth constantly vibrates at the frequency of 7.83 Hertz aka the “Schumann Resonance.” This frequency is created in the Earth’s electromagnetic field by the electrical interaction between the Earth’s surface and the ionosphere.
Top 3 Grounding Methods 🌲🌳🌲
Walking Barefoot
One of the easiest and best ways to ground is walking barefoot on the Earth. Letting your skin touch the ground is all that needs to happen.
2. Tree Root Meditation
Get into a comfortable position sitting or standing.
Close your eyes and take 2 deep, mindful breaths. Consciously relax.
When you feel ready, set your intention to ground to the Earth. In your mind’s eye, visualize roots sprouting from the soles of your feet or the base of your spine and growing into the Earth. See the roots reaching the Earth’s core and wrapping around it.
Picture a golden energy emitting from the Earth’s core and radiating up the roots to reach you where you stand or sit.
Take a moment to feel the sensation of the Earth’s energy knowing you are connected with it.
3. Water
Interact with the element of water in whatever way is available to you. You can take a bath, wash your face, drink tea, or dip your feet in an ocean or stream.
Benefits of Grounding 📚
Research present suggests there is the potential to experience physical, emotional, and mental benefits from grounding.
A 2015 study proposes grounding may reduce inflammation and accelerate healing in a similar function as antioxidants.
In a 2018 study involving 16 massage therapists, grounding reduced pain and elevated mood.
A study in 2015 suggests one hour of grounding can improve mood more than relaxation alone.
Grounding is a fundamental part of a healthy spiritual practice. I ground during meditation, before and after spell work, and when I feel anxious or unbalanced. I would encourage you to give grounding a try and notice how you feel!
why do i have to find an actual job instead of being the apprentice of the old witch who lives in the woods?

Protection/Warding Black Salt
Not to be confused with volcanic salt/Himalayan black salt/kala namak. Black salt has strong protective properties, especially when combined with other protective/uncrossing herbs (herbs meant to undo a curse or hex). It’s used to absorb negative energy, create wards, and undo curses. It’s also good for banishing and binding. Here’s my recipe:
What you’ll need:
Cleansing items, such as smoke, bells, spray, whichever you personally use.
Sea Salt
Charcoal Disk (or charcoal powder)
Black Candle
Rosemary
Garlic Powder
Chili Powder
Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
Paprika
Black Pepper
Black Candle
Bowl
Mortar & Pestle
Black stones/crystals
Any additional protective items you may have. (Here I gathered dried red peppers, dried chili peppers, lemon, sage, and ashed from a Litha bonfire.) These items are for You to draw some extra energy from, and won’t be directly added to the salt.
Frankincense and/or Dragon’s Blood incense.
Instructions:
First, cleanse your space using whatever best works for you.
After cleansing, start your frankincense and/or dragon’s blood incense, this will be going for the duration of the spell.
Light your black candle.
Gather your supplies as seen in the picture.
As always, make sure your intention is strong, and continuously draw from it. Return to your intent no matter how often your mind wanders (which it will, that’s ok).
In a bowl, mix the salt with the herbs first.
Remember your other protective items are there for you to use. If needed, refocus on their protective energies and draw from that.
Use a mortar and pestle to crush the charcoal disk separately. This takes a lot of physical energy, and it is very messy. If you prefer to use charcoal powder, that’s ok, though charcoal disks will be cheaper. I like charcoal disks because I feel more energetically involved in/connected to the process.
Mixing counterclockwise, mix the very finely crushed charcoal into the salt. Mix. Use as many charcoal disks needed to get to the level of darkness you want.
Mind wandering? Remember your intent! Refocus!
When you’re done, transfer the black salt into a jar and set the crystals around it in a circle. Let it continue to build and charge this way, until you feel it is ready. If you’re not sure, it can also be until the candle or incense goes out.
Done! Sprinkle this around the parameter of your wards, such as along doorways and windows. It can also be used during unhexing/curse breaking spells, general protection spells, banishing, and binding.
This is NOT FOR CONSUMPTION.
Even if you used edible activated charcoal, know that 1. charcoal interacts with many medications by basically absorbing them and rendering them useless, including birth control, diabetes medications, cancer drugs, and more. and 2. I’m not sure this would taste great?
Witch Bottle
History of the Witch Bottle:
In the early times, Witch Bottles were designed to protect homes against malicious witchcraft. They were commonly made around Samhain to protect the home from evil spirits. The witch bottle was commonly made up of glass, pottery, pins and nails. Sometimes, the maker would include his own urine to link the magick to the home and the family with in it. They were used as far back as the 1600’s! Witch Bottles are said to be of English origin.
Purpose of the Witch Bottle:
The Witch Bottle provides the home with protection from negative entities, the evil eye, or any malevolent spells by sending the negativity back to it’s caster.
How to make one:
Step 1: Find a Glass Bottle or Jar.
Step 2: Decorate the bottle with ribbons, feathers, charms, and crystals that are associated with protection.
Colors that symbolize protection: Black, White, Blue, Red
Charms that symbolize protection: Horseshoes, arrowheads, eye of horus, four leaf clover, snakes, scarab beetle, scorpion, unicorn, pentagram, raven, seal of solomon, Thor’s hammer, celtic knots/crosses, bells, etc.
Crystals for protection: Amber, Agate, Cat’s eye, Carnelian, Garnet, Lapis Lazuli, Malachite, Onyx, Pearls, Quartz, Topaz, Turquoise
Feathers for protection: Black feathers, Blue feathers, White Feathers.
Step 3: Fill it with sharp, rusty, and pointy object. (Handle these objects with gloves and proper care!)
Feel free to add protective herbs as well.
Objects you can put in your witch bottle: Barb wire, mirrors, glass shards, bent and rusty nails, thorns, pins, fish hooks, a tangle of string, salt, needles, razor blades.
Step 4: Add an item that was once a part of yourself and can be used to symbolize yourself.
Such as: Blood or urine which is pretty gross and I definitely would not recommend. Instead add hair, nail clippings, menstrual blood, etc.
Step 5: Seal the top with black candle wax. You may also say a chant while doing this.
Step 6: Bury it somewhere inside your property or hide it somewhere in your home.
Your Witch bottle is complete!
May the moon light your path!
==Moonlight Academy==
“My house is protected from unwanted influences” Best used carved into a piece of wood to be set above, or drawn directly onto, the top of the frame of your front door.
here is the sigil I created to go with my cleansing spell I’m going to post tomorrow x i’ll link it in this post once it’s been published!
🕯️spiritual veiling🕯️
Veiling (or head covering) is a spiritual practice that is found within nearly all world religions! Veiling is the act of covering ones head, partially or fully, with an article of clothing or hanging cloth. The type of veil or head covering varies from faith to faith. Also, everyone has different reasons for veiling. In general, it is a sign of respect to ones deities, to the self, and to the sacredness of the body. Vestal Priestesses of Vesta veiled before their goddess, Yoruba initiates cover their head for spiritual protection, Catholic Nuns veil for spiritual distinction and modesty, etc. Historically, women are more likely to practice veiling but there are many practices where men are also called to cover their heads. Veiling is for anyone and everyone who feels called to practice! 💐🌹
✨ BENEFITS OF VEILING ✨
(Note, this is an amalgamation of different reasons why people veil. Not everyone shares these same benefits or beliefs. This is a generalization!)
DIVINE DEVOTION
The crown of the head is, in many practices, believed to be the center of divine communication. It is the part of our body that is closest to divinity. As a result, many people veil in order to respect the sacredness of this connection. It’s almost as if placing a crown upon our head to symbolize our pure connection with our gods. It can also be a sign of humility and humbleness before divine. Veiling for divine devotion is often worn during rituals or worship but may not be worn for everyday use (this varies). This practice of veiling results in a closer, sanctified bond with our divinity.
SPIRITUAL PROTECTION
Similar to the last point, the head is believed to be sacred. If the head is not protected, the rest of the body may suffer. Emotional empaths may be called to veiling out of a desire to protect their energy from the world around them. Full-body veils can also be worn for this purpose. It offers comfort, peace, and a sense of spiritual protection!
DISTINCTION
For many people, veiling is a way of “wearing their faith”. A clear religious habit (form of clothing) sets you apart from the rest of the world. Not in the sense that you are higher or holier than the world but in the sense that your life is lived in devotion. It is a reminder of the covenant you have made within your spiritual path. It makes your faith visible and tangible. My Muslim sisters often express that wearing their hijab creates a sense of unification and connectedness.
EMPOWERMENT
I’ve noticed a lot of people, especially women, express how empowered they feel when they’re wearing their veils. It can often garner a sense of respect and reverence. Sadly there are spaces where veiling (especially for muslim women) is met with judgement but, even when faced with criticism, it is an empowering practice. It forces the world to view us as more than bodies to be objectified. It adds a sense privacy that demands respect.
SELF AWARENESS
Wearing a veil is a reminder to the world but also to ourselves. When we wear a veil, we are wearing the tradition of our respective beliefs. It is a physical symbol that aligns us with our spiritual practice and reminds us of why we do what we do. I find that I am much more aware of my actions when I am veiling (for rituals and for everyday wear). There’s a sense of responsibility that comes with wearing a veil. It’s highly symbolic and we have to respect its importance.
A BLESSING
For many, it is a reminder that we are forever blessed, protected, and empowered by our spiritual practice! It’s like taking up a mantle of power. For some it’s out of modestly but, for most, it’s an outward sign of the blessed relationship that we have with our respective spiritual paths! ✨✨✨✨ Thank you for stopping by! My askbox is always open for anyone who wants to learn more! If you are someone who veils, I would love to hear your reasons and experiences. I feel like there are so many misunderstandings about the purpose of veiling and I hope this post could shed some light! 💐 🌷 🌹 P.S anyone can veil, as it’s a part of pretty much every culture, but be mindful of the style of veil you choose! There are some styles that are sacred and should not be used unless you are a part of that religion/tradition. Do your research.

🔥 Violently flickering flame - Strong no. Take this as a warning (if you are positive the flickering is not caused by any outside force).
🔥 Sputtering and crackling flame - There is more to your answer than a simple yes or no.
🔥 Dual-Flame - Thinking, wait for your answer.
🔥 Flame leaning to the left - Yes.
