WORMS IN FILM

In this sci-fi horror flick, a humanoid creature made of a mix of human and alien DNA has escaped the lab where she was going to be killed. On her quest to survive, she is plagued by nightmares.

What a place to see some worms! Although this film isn't specifically worm themed, H.R. Giger lends his trademark style to the creature, and we see his hand in a strange nightmare scene.

The Thief and the Cobbler is an unfinished animated movie about a Cobbler, Tack, saving a city from destruction brought on by accident by a Thief, who shall remain unnamed. (I'm not sure how to credit when this movie is from due to an excruciatingly long and complicated production and release history.)

When a band of brigands pulls out their brigand's handbook, a small snake worms its way out. I got really excited cuz i thought this was a bookworm, but alas... it flicks its little forked tongue out.

Hollow Man is inspired by The Invisible Man, following a team of scientists working on a serum to both make things invisible, and return them to visibility. After successful animal tests, the brash lead chooses himself as the first human test subject.

Lots of violence such that it got very hard to sit through. And there weren't even any worms to make it any better. The CGI was great though.

"I thought this movie was from the 1920s-" well you're wrong buddy, this is a different movie with a nearly identical title. for some reason.

The Cabinet of Caligari is a horror drama following a woman taking refuge in the house of an eccentric man named Caligari. Her stay is filled with horrific experiences helmed by titular master of the house.

None of this has anything to do with critters.

I previously posted about this movie, and I can't believe i not only rewatched this movie but am having to reevaluate it, in a first-ever for this blog.

There are way more shots of worms (and some mealworms, not pictured) than I remembered. I would like to personally apologize to Habitat and Rene Daalder. I'm sorry i doubted you.

Basket Case is a strange low-budget horror movie about previously-conjoined twins enacting revenge on the doctors who operated on them without their permission when they were younger.

We are treated to TWO! count that TWO! earthworms, as well as TWO! centipedes. YES! I am so happy with this information.

Warner Brothers produced a series of four big Batman blockbusters in the late 80s to the 90s. And not a single one has worms in it.

Lots of movies with a theme of gore tend to have shots of rotting meat with maggots (often played by mealworms), but the meat in this movie was much too fresh to foster anything squirming. Actually there were no creepy crawling critters at all.

I think at around 10 minutes, Hank is looking at a worm in a jar of green fluid, but the picture quality was so bad I'm not sure...?

The Meaning of the Ritual is a song from Irish band Villagers' debut album. The lead member Conor O'Brien also made the music video for it, it looks like using sand and/or dry-erase marker.

I like the worm-like movements of the folds of the brain squirming out of the head!
