Solas has body dysmorphia.

His romance with Lavellan is one of his coping mechanisms for it, if not the first step in managing/healing around this particular baggage. For once, his body is not a curse because now he can see its value.

For once, it does not bring pain and suffering as a vessel for Mythal’s machinations or serve as a reminder of his own heinous but necessary actions.

For once, it can be a method for expressing his desire and attraction to this incredible, wondrous, and impossible person he’s come to love.

Perhaps for the first time, even if only for a moment, he might love his body (and perhaps himself).

There could be, like, 50 earthquakes, and it wouldn’t rouse him.

After all, a great many of the wrongs Mythal did had nothing to do with Solas. Keeping slaves. Elevating herself to a god. Supporting Elgar'nan in his crimes. Not to mention all the wrongs she did to Solas himself.

Putting it this way feels like a deliberate choice on her part to create the impression of a moral equivalence between them when in fact no such equivalence exists. Even in this moment she's still manipulating him, and it doesn't feel great that the success of her manipulation is celebrated as a good outcome.

I mean, Solas’s voice in Trespasser. It was something else! So different! I was so curious I reached out to Gareth David Lloyd himself to ask about it.

lucanis is lying on his "bed" in the pantry reading when rook stumbles in, half-conscious. before he can even ask what's happening, rook has sprawled across him, buried their face in his neck, and mumbled, "the fish are judging me." seconds later they're snoring

lucanis, holding his book over them and having no idea where he is supposed to put it or his arms in general now, looks over at spite in panic (because he and rook are nowhere near that physically intimate yet. man hasn't been cuddled like this in... well, maybe ever)

So. Yeah. Do with that what you will.
