things in the game that feel connected to me in some way but I can't seem to explain why in the right words

Stanley's heaven, on the other hand, is bright. Blindingly so. And the main appeal of it is the buttons, four hundred thirty-two buttons to just press. It's infinite choice for him, infinite freedom. No Narrator to tell him what to do, just a wall of buttons that he can just run his hand across.

AND YET!! Despite the fact that their heavens are opposites, they're also kinda the same!! They're circular spaces full of colors, whether from buttons or lights. Stanley's may be bright white and the Narrator's completely black, but they have the similarities of "one of the extremes of light". They're both constantly moving in some way or another, with the buttons spinning around in rows and the Zen lights constantly swirling.

And the one that gets me the most- Stanley's heaven, despite his seemingly having complete control over everything, is kinda a trap. He can't leave. He can't do anything. He's gone from one prison to another, slightly happier prison. And the Narrator's heaven seemingly removes all choices, but leaves a single one: the staircase. The Narrator made this heaven for them to sit in and do nothing forever and ever, just letting the world pass by, with no choices to make. And yet it has the most horrifying decision and death in the whole game. Stanley's heaven is designed to have infinite choices and yet has none, and the Narrator's heaven was designed to have no choices and yet has one of the biggest like "It looks like you wanted to make a choice after all" SOMEONE PLEASE TALK TO ME
