Luz has immense issues with self-confidence and tends to be very scared of people leaving her and would instantly do whatever possible to make Amity not mad at her anymore.

Amity on the other hand, would easily see how unhealthy their relationship would become if Luz was terrified that Amity would leave her if she made a single mistake.

If I make a shitty fanfic for my own production and someone tears it a new one, that is perfectly fine. No one is obligated to enjoy what you make regardless of quality, or find no faults in it.

I love Pomni but she’s that type of main character who starts off strong but then the narrative wrapped her up fast and lost interest as she sorta becomes a plot device within her own show. Like she still has the ‘cool’ moments that move the plot that only the main character can do but otherwise she’s become a side character as the story clearly focuses on its actual point-of-interest side character who keeps the exploration and depth and development.

And you get the distinct sense that the writer would’ve preferred that side character to be the main, and the only reason they didn’t do that was because of that begrudging sense of obligation to have a main character who fulfills the Everyman beats because that’s what a story is supposed to do right?

I agree 100 percent, in fact I headcanon that adult Amity is super buff and the "head" of the household.

I have seen whole-ass reviews of episodes where Amity haters ignore the actual episode to yap about the secondary characters' B plot because they know Amity is crucial to the actual episode.

ANOTHER horrible Lunter argument is that Amity is a mirror of Lilith is and Luz is a mirror of Luz.

This is just blatantly untrue on pretty much every level.

While they were the two mentors for a time, it quickly became clear neither Luz nor Amity that similar to their mentors.

Lilith is a massive cheat that not afraid to do underhanded tactics to get what she wanted; Amity's main positive trait early on was that she wasn't a cheater and did everything fair and square.

Lilith was a grade A nerd and fake goth with an interest in history. Amity is an actual goth jock that has interests in engineering.

Lilith had an okay home life aside from jealously due to her sister, while Amity had an abusive mom that tried to mold her into a mini me.

Eda is a powerhouse that barley had to work up a sweat to get her power, while Luz is a powerless Human that had to claw her way to top though guile and intellect using glyphs.

Eda is a loner that isn't really a leader, while is a charismatic leader that can bring together a team around her.

Eda is a wild gal that doesn't like school or regular teaching, while Luz is a lot less chaotic and actually does well in normal school when its about her interests.

Luz and Amity's foils aren't Eda and Lilith, Luz and Amity's foils are Belos and Odalia, who AREN'T related.

1. Lunter gets rid of the best LGTBQ+ romance in history, while Zutara just replaces a fairly average ship with another average ship.

2. Lunter ships two people that are directly portrayed to be the good timeline version of a different sibling dynamic ( With Luz being a good Belos and Hunter being a Caleb that lived). Zuko and Katara dosen't have a sibling dynamic and their main narrative counterparts aren't siblings.

3. Lunter tends to butcher Luz, Hunter, and Amitys characters, turning Luz into just some helpless Bella copy and Hunter into generic edgy twink number 1000. Zutara only tends to mess with Aang's characterization.

I am very proud of Gooseworx for admitting their mistake and owning up to it like a true creative should.

For sure Raine would be overjoyed at Belos's defeat and Eda gaining a daughter, but everyone does see themselves as the heroes of their own story, and to see someone else swoop in and take the position you are been working for your entire life would be rough even if logically Luz saved everyone.

While yes, they are part of the hexsquad and major secondary characters, they aren't main characters like Amity, Luz, Eda, or King; nor are they Integral secondary characters.

Sure someone like Hunter got loads of screentime despite being a secondary character, but that's because of his relationship with Belos that Willow and Gus don't have.

Both characters are fine as they are and have enough screentime to do their roles as Luz's friends and support her well enough.
