Review:

The A-plot was great. It was wish fulfilling/ fixing regret, as well as character growth for Isaac. Also another plot where Sam and Jay don't turn out to look like idiots to other people. Love that.

The B-plot was a little bit of a bummer, though it was funny! I was upset that they gave up on Sas and Bela so quickly. It will be OK if they decide to use this as a catalyst to explore Sas' identity deeper.

Favorite Lines:

"I will join as the fifth wheel on an inter-dimentional date all because I was hit by a goose on a roller coaster."

Trevor calling out Hetty for her bath comments after her newfound respect for the working man revelation last episode.

Review:

First of all if I were Jay and I could see a ghost once a year my calendar would be CLEAR that day. But whatever.

I liked the A-plot. I liked that they took this opportunity to have Jay interact with ghosts without Sam in between. It wasn't the most believable thing I've ever watched. Also a little sad that the day mostly happened at night. Like why didn't Hetty run into Bela earlier in the day? Why was Bela surprised to see Hetty at the restaurant but then tell Hetty that she was the first of her party to arrive? Why does no one ever question Hetty's wild dress? But if I sit in the suspended disbelief strongly enough it's all fine. I thought it was really beautiful character growth.

Also, I love when the ghosts act like ghosts. And by that I mean, I like that Hetty went off on Jeff the waiter like a shrill angry dead person with a lot of regret. It makes sense since we're in a haunted house.

The B-plot was interesting. Bela and Sas have very similar energy. I suppose what I don't understand is why they would give Sas all this growth with Bela if they were just going to break them up in the next episode. It's obvious to me that they are hyper focused on Sas' romantic life as his main plot point, however, I think it is already clear that he would want a real relationship. So what does this accomplish? I'm missing it. I wish they could be brave and dig into his identity in a different way.

"If Kyle marries Bela, he might move in, and then we'd have a back-up butler!"

"number one, you are a ghost. And you know what? I'm gonna rest my case right there."

"Ghosts waiting tables, ghosts hooking up with my sister..."

"Jay, you were right, this is beyond my Female abilities."

H$ Evidence:

Trevor helping Hetty set up her dating profile. This is not the best evidence because within the confines of the show it would either be Trevor or Sam helping Hetty, so not a lot of choice writing wise. But I will say the wingman turned lover thing is a pretty common trope in sitcoms.

Trevor not bringing up that Bela was interested in him when Sas brought it up shows that they are leaving that plot line behind completely.

Review:

I loved the A-plot! Sam and Jay weren't completely made out to be fools, they got what they needed business wise in the end, and there was a good lesson for both them and Hetty. I especially liked that despite having their differences, ultimately Hetty and Sam worked together during the episode.

Did not love the tail bit. Felt pretty unnecessary. Eugene could've been an outcast without the tail thing. They didn't really need to make jokes about physical difference.

The B-plot felt silly to me. While I like that we have a long term couple in Thor and Flower, and that they get to work through issues without breaking up, the chair seems like a silly thing for Flower to get upset about. Wouldn't this have come up already, given Thor's whole outfit and way of life? HOWEVER I loved the confusion that Thor had over the "promiscuous cow," and I love therapist Pete.

Patience plot has all but disappeared? Seemed like a way to show that Trevor could be the kind of person who doesn't want to hurt a romantic partner's feelings.

More growth for Hetty = closer to becoming someone who would actually be empathetic enough to have any kind of relationship. Also Trevor was there for her speech and he had a line reacting to her saying she was sorry. Literally could've been anyone else in that room (except Jay).
