they’re human beings who are edited and composed to only reveal the best to you. they’re not better than you in any way or more worthy of being heard. 

yeah it sucks knowing your “heroes” are fucked up, but it comes with knowing that they probably were never the person you imagined them to be anyway. that person never existed to begin with.

we have to hold them to the same standards as everyone else. they don’t get to get away with this and there are more talented, dedicated, and decent people waiting on the sidelines to take their place.

Remember when the WMD story fell apart as a reason to invade Iraq? The neocons smoothly switched reasons to “Saddam is a bad guy doing bad things to his people.” It’s the same excuse they’re trying to use today in Syria to usurp Assad.

But Yemen shows how morally bankrupt these warmongers are. The horrors Yemen is experiencing eclipse those seen in Iraq and Syria combined. So why is it that we don’t hear politicians and their partners in the media beating the war drums to incite the American people to intervene and save the Yemeni people? Because the atrocities are being committed by close American ally Saudi Arabia with American supplied weapons and the support of the US and UK governments.
