Hearing the word ‘bear’, Carlotta immediately stood up and her voice grew a little tense. “Wh— Where do you see that…”

Tiana pointed to the small forest of trees just in front of her. "I swear I saw it over there somewhere."

Um...

"They might be, I was never one for this wilderness stuff. C'mon honey let's just get you to a nurse or something. They do have nurses here right?"

"When I get out of here, I’m going straight back… to a classroom at least. I plan on teaching second graders, but back in the States. I can fake French for only so long."

"Oh really? I think that's great, you rarely see people that want to be teachers 'round here, good for you honey. I know you'll do well, all the kids are sure going to love you."

"Your mother sounds very wise. I’m sure she’s extremely proud of you Tiana."

"I sure hope so. So what about you? What do you want to do when you're out of here?"

"Yeah well, it hurt."

"All I'm saying is you've got to be careful Lottie, especially here.":

"I kinda know so… and I’m glad that you’re focused on making other people happy. That’s really noble Miss Tiana."

"Well you know my mama always said the quickest way to anyone's heart is through their stomach, and if I can make at least one person happy that way then I'm happy."

That’s not surprising, my mother loves purple as well, I’ve found that quite a few people that work with clothes and things like the color purple; it’s a wonderful color.

Maybe it's just easier to work with. I've never thought of that, but well I haven't exactly been around any other seamstress besides my mother so that might have something to do with it.

"Then I’m sure you will be one wealthy young lady. Your cooking is incredible, hands down some of the best I’ve ever tasted."

"You thinks so? Thank you so much, that's all I could ever ask for."

"Absolutely. Kind of hard to forget." Jane took the book and started flipping through it.

"D'you see it yet?"

"The worst would be splinters, but it was sanded so, don’t see that happening."

"Like that time you had those roses and them thorns got stuck in your face? Man I remember mama plucking for hours because you wouldn't stay still."

Ooh yes, green is a lovely color too. My favorite colors are purple and red.

That's nice, mama's favorite color is purple.

Oh, yeah I’d like some more, but is that okay? 

Oh yeah most definitely, eat as much as you want, it's on the house.

They sound lovely, you can never go wrong with poofy dresses really, they make a girl feel like a princess; and pink is lovely color.

I like green the best, but that's just me. What about you?

"Jim Hawkins. And because frogs mean something and he didn’t want silly ideas like mermaids, so a princess was out and a puppy probably as well."
