His fear was short lived, but quickly morphed into mortification upon fully taking in just who it was that came to his rescue. Of course, he was grateful for his butler’s assistance, but the very fact it was Shitsuo made it all the more embarrassing. The prince let the other help him rebalance himself, gingerly shifting the book that had caused the situation under his arm feeling somehow worse at the notion he might be ridiculed for its contents as well--not that the butler would, but still----
