Alicia Online
Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone could give me a solid overview of AO, I’m interested in playing since I see so many people talking about it. I went to their web site and saw how to get the game but it seems like a lot so I want to know for sure if I’m going to get it or not.
What would you like to know? :)
Just the main mechanics of the game. Such as, how are the controls? Is it easy to play? Is the game play fun? am I able to continually go back to the game in one day? Do I have to pay to get full access to content? Sorry if it’s a ton of questions but I want to make sure I want the game before I download it
Alicia is a beta game, so its not MMO. Yet. The controls are good, and to move the character and horse, its basically the same as SSO. Its fairly easy, its the downloading and getting it running that confused me a bit, but that’s because I was on a Windows 10 before they made it simpler. Yes, I go back into the game as many as 10 times a day, you can also make it a window and minimize it to do other things if you need to. That’s how I do a race, and then a homework problem, then several, then a sheet, etc. It only works on PC atm as well. Yes, but you can use their Alicia log in to just play the game and not get an account if you’d rather, but you can’t name your character or the horse, and you can’t buy other horses or anything. Not at all, ask away. Let me know if I can answer anything else, I love Alicia :)
If I can add:
Alicia Online is a to-be MMO racing RPG. The core gameplay focuses around competitive racing, with speed (just time) and magic (has items) races. It’s an RPG because it has a very well balanced series of stats and requires some breeding. I’d say the keyboard controls are really tight, but the controller support is a little loose. The controls are pretty easy to learn, but there is a large skill gap between starters and pros. You’ll need to practice to master the game. There is a lot of side collection, like the multitude of pets, decorating your ranch (when the feature is repatched), and the many awards that give minor perks (again, when it’s repatched).
The game is free-to-play with microtransactions. Though, I strongly suggest you buy a few of these, as the developers aren’t allowed to make money off this reboot. All the purchases of Cash/Candy, once they add it, will go to keeping the multiplayer servers online. Though, all armor can be bought with Carrots, the ingame currency. Cash will let you buy some outfits, hairstyles, features for your ranch, extra stable space, another egg hatching slot, so on. Luxury items you can play the game without, but are nice to have.
The content isn’t limited daily, like SSO, so you can race as much as you want, just keep your horses’ stamina and health in mind (they can get injured). There is some waiting for eggs to hatch, foals to age, and injuries to heal, but that’s it. The Windows 10 version has been updated though, so you no longer need to change your locale to download the game.
