As the weather turned ever so slowly from autumn to theeventual chill of the onset of Winter, Feya decided that it was time to buy along sleeved shirt. The problem was what to get with the amount of shillingsthat she had.
“Its not like I can simply get coins right away. It takesso long to save,” Feya sighed as she and Fion traveled to Fort Pinta to dochores and races. “And I’m not complaining. Really, I’m not.” Fion snorted,this time in disbelief. “Okay, maybe.”
“Maybe what?” Feya squealed in shock. Both she and herhorse whirled to find Aurelius cackling from his seat, perched atop Roark. Hishorse blew out gently from his nostrils. Even for such a young horse, thestallion was fairly calm, unless a jump was placed in front of him or he had abad day, much like Fion.
“Don’t go sneaking up on people! Geez!” Aurelius managed tocontain his laughter.
“Sorry, Feya. I didn’t mean to startle you. But what wereyou talking about that you needed?”
“A long sleeved shirt.” He looked surprised.
“You don’t have seasoned clothes?”
Feya scowled. “Well, no. I don’t have enough room for much of anything as it is. Surely you know that by now.”
“I do. But I thought you had a sweater. The cute black one.” Feya sighed.
“No buts. You’ll make it work, Feya. You will.”
Feya groaned. He was right. In the cold, you didn’t have a right to get picky with clothes, you just had to make sure that you were warm enough.
“You know? For once since I have met you, you’re right!” Feya tossed Aurelius her most evil grin she possessed. He pouted.
“That’s mean! Very mean, Feya! No!”
Her laughter echoed through the still air as the pair of horses and riders continued onto Fort Pinta.
