a rare colored page of sketches
messed around with pixel art, and behold, lesbians
I was thinking of a pride art challenge people could do with their OCs, because I thought it'd be cute! A queer/trans artist with their creations.
but then I realised that same challenge would be infinitely more funny with folks who have atypical or horror OCs

i literally hate ads so much there NEEDS to be a decible limit on them or something because i should not be able to hear screaming from an ad from my otherwise quiet downstairs neighbours
its the horror movie equivalent of using cheap jumpscares instead of good setting and storytelling, no yelling into my ears will actually make me hate you
you are an AD, you are not. ALIVE, you have not LIVED, you were born from the FILTH of humanity that is corporate greed, your only purpose is to get my (very fickle) attention and you DAREE talk to ME (a real living person) like we're EQUALS?? you FOOL, you are worth less than the dirt on the bottom of my shoes, because atleast the dirt will someday nurture a plant somewhere but YOU will cut that plant down to put up a BILLBOARd for more ADSgixlpqimn,,,.snaj
Reports say Windows 15 will be "a transparent pane of glass" that will be installed into frames on a wall; Lead developer comments, "finally, we got it right. Somehow we kept making operating systems instead and it was getting really frustrating."

Iâd divorce him too lmao
Itâs never JUST about the tomatoes.
Basically!
Throughout the day, partners would make requests for connection, what Gottman calls âbids.â For example, say that the husband is a bird enthusiast and notices a goldfinch fly across the yard. He might say to his wife, âLook at that beautiful bird outside!â Heâs not just commenting on the bird here: Heâs requesting a response from his wifeâa sign of interest or supportâhoping theyâll connect, however momentarily, over the bird.
The wife now has a choice. She can respond by either âturning towardâ or âturning awayâ from her husband, as Gottman puts it. Though the bird-bid might seem minor and silly, it can actually reveal a lot about the health of the relationship. The husband thought the bird was important enough to bring it up in conversation and the question is whether his wife recognizes and respects that.
These bidding interactions had profound effects on marital well-being. Couples who had divorced after a six-year follow-up had âturn-toward bidsâ 33 percent of the time. Only three in 10 of their bids for emotional connection were met with intimacy. The couples who were still together after six years had âturn-toward bidsâ 87 percent of the time. Nine times out of 10, they were meeting their partnerâs emotional needs.
Those who showed genuine interest in their partnerâs joys were more likely to be together.
Damn, this made me think of all the âshouting into the voidâ social media posts everyone makes. Just bids for connection. From ANYONE.
I think that is ABSOLUTELY what a lot of that is. Our culture is very isolated (even BEFORE covid!), and weâre desperate to connect with others. I read an article one time that suggested that childcare workers stop saying that a child is âJust wants attentionâ and start saying that the child is âlooking for connection.â Weâre starved for it even from childhood.
The world we live under is keen on telling us that our needs or bad or wrong or that it's entitlement to speak them.
Love and compassion are a fundamental good. To be honest, I feel that no other truth is more fundamental.
(Also FTR I don't really approve of the tone of "I'd divorce him too lmao" up above.)

what is with the cop hate??
Oh sorry for the confusion. Itâs because I hate cops
as it should be :3
i think it's actually really horrifying and detrimental that it's considered socially unacceptable to tell parents when they are making mistakes while raising their kids
"don't tell me how to raise my kids" is seen as a good defense and it's so disturbing to me.
children are not your property that you can do whatever you like with.
giving birth or impregnating someone or adopting doesn't give you some inherent wisdom that means you can never fuck up.
and you shouldn't have the right to abuse or neglect or misinform a child just because you have legal guardianship of them.
they deserve to have others speak up on their behalf. i don't care if it hurts your ego.
the vast majority of the time, it is all about ego and control btw.
a staggering amount of parents view their children as their property and see advice as someone trying to take away their "deserved" control.
a ton of them are more concerned with being perceived as a good parent over actually being one.
in the grass wip

I am so very serious when I say that minors should have a legal and easily reinforceable right to say "I don't want to live with my parents (or other adult caretakers)/I don't want to be around that person/I don't want to go to that place" and actually get their wish accommodated. So much childhood trauma could be avoided or ended if children actually had the right to leave the situation or the person hurting them.
