To say Raditz was still pissed that Yamcha got a solid punch on him awhile ago in order to force him into asking out Launch – successfully, but with mixed feelings about the success – would be a huge understatement. The Saiyan warrior managed to find him this afternoon the same place he was humiliated days ago: Capsule Corp. 

“Tell me where you’ve made the reservations for that date you’ve forced into happening.” The way he made his demand to Yamcha without even a friendly “hello” made it clear he was here for information, not to make small talk. Like so many of Kakarrot’s other friends will do. 

He was only going to take a small break, that was it--! He had really reached his limit too, and he could feel himself nearly blacking out from such intense training. After all, he wasn’t like Vegeta-- to nearly kill himself in that gravity machine. He knew when to stop and when he felt good enough to continue. But before he could get some serious shut eye, he could feel a familiar presence nearby, which quickly had him sitting up.

“… …but maybe another day.” she released him from the hug, slowly; it wasn’t hard to feel him trembling, not while being held like that, but she’d never mention it, too concerned about embarrassing him. her hand rested on his cheek for just a moment before she pulled away to stretch.

“it’s been a long day, you know. we can stay here and try other things to see if you’re still afraid.”

Oh--oh no! What did he just do!? Everything was going just fine! He felt so confident ( not really ) about testing his newfound fearlessness towards women! She even said so herself-- and she looked so proud of him too! Now she was beginning to doubt him? Surely she must have mistaken him on something he just said--!

“that’s wonderful! then i must assume we have conquered your fear of women, yes?” though, she worried perhaps they had just gotten him past a fear of her, and the fear of women overall remained.

“we’ll have to test it somehow.” but sending a known bandit off into town seemed like a very bad decision.

❝. . .❞ He couldn’t lie to her-- still he harbored such a weakness, but he had grown accustomed to being around Launch. Then... it wouldn’t be so bad, right? Maybe he could test it somehow like she had just mentioned. To see if he wasn’t afraid any longer.

the successful catch is met with a chorus of laughter, arms circling his shoulders in a very tight, very proud hug. because he did it! despite his fear he actually did it!

“does this mean you’re not afraid of me anymore, yamcha-san?”

He actually did it this time! Sure, he was nervous-- and his heart was beating twice as fast as it should be, but he caught her! He actually caught her, and she was hugging him, and he still hadn’t dropped her so far!

For just one split second, he mentally berates prepares himself for the oncoming attack. Okay, just... breathe... nothing bad’s gonna happen--! She wasn’t going to hurt him, and she certainly wasn’t scary like the last ones he’d run into! And just as she made that running leap into his arms, he lifted his arms up into the air and caught her right into his awaiting arms.

I can’t believe Yamcha’s going to be Raditz’s first male friend within the Z warriors group. What a good friend for my hairy, tsundere Saiyan son.
