Chapter 2 — probably the final one — of “The Man, the Myth, the Scrub Nurse” is now live. It’s KitBell, but AJ Austin has a major role too.

Safe to say it’s different from my usual and has a M rating to reflect that. I rate cautiously, but still …

I have loads of half-baked KitBell fic ideas; nothing close to starting writing. All I’ve come up with recently is this series of rhyming couplets, based on the 6x05 KB scene. Silly, but I’m posting anyway in case they brighten a moment for someone.

I’m not a poet, and I know it!

Randolph Returns

Kit returns home to a gorgeous smell

There’s food and music and best of all, Bell

Hello beautiful — I took two flights

They’re both so tired of lonely nights

KIt and Bell rush to warmly embrace

Together is their happy space

He’s wearing an apron, all clean and neat

Yet still wipes his hands on his personal seat

Randolph's been too long away

Here’s hoping that he’s back to stay

Kit’s concerned — is he truly well?

He swears there’s no bad news to tell

Wedding venue photos are ready to view

He jokes “Will I get an invite, me too?”

He has cooked a delicious meal

Kit loves how he makes her feel

Upon her lap does Randolph sit

Still clinging to his oven mitt

Then together they kiss and kiss

It’s something they have really missed

Both are so happy that he is back

Among other things, we learn why Kit called Bell “Randolph” from the start.

This is the sculpture mentioned near the end of the fic. Titled “World Events,” it was created by British sculptor Tony Cragg. It’s 26 feet high, made of aluminum and occasionally appeared on the show. It’s next to the Woodruff Arts Center and the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia, site of TR’s fictional Chastain Park Memorial Hospital.
