She shivers, “it’s getting easier… I feel good…”

“Good. Hopefully that means that the last few won’t hurt as bad.”

Younger brother - Cheryl/Sam

“Hey…”  She leaned forward conspiratorially, lowering her voice.  “If you don’t tell anyone, I’ll help you sneak in there.”

Sam raised his eyebrows at her, “You’re gonna help me sneak into a supposedly haunted building?”

“Sam… You can’t know that.” She said softly.

“It won’t happen again,” Sam can’t help the small glare on his face as he speaks.

“Yeah but… What if I get hurt? Or God forbid… Isn’t it better I don’t hurt you again?”

“It won’t happen again, Jess,” He clenched his teeth.

She shivers, “three to go after that one?”

He walks over and presses the blood in, nodding his head.

Embry looked at Sam puzzled. “Wait, why are you not telling me I’m not crazy? Or calling the police?” Looking down at his pick lock kit, she raised her eyebrow. “You’re a hunter too aren’t you?”

Sam looked back up at her with a little smirk, “You got it on one try. Yeah. Now, c’mon, let’s hear this. How’re you gonna take down whatever’s in there? I can open the door if you know.”

“Their have been a string of deaths here.” She ran her fingers through her hair before sighing. “And I think it might be a ghost or poltergeist.” She said quickly and almost inaudibly. 

Sam raised his eyebrows, nodding, and pulling his pick lock kit out of his pocket, stepping in front of her, “And how are you planning on taking out this ghost or poltergeist?”

“You wouldn’t understand.” She knew that telling anyone the truth would warrant either ridicule or a call to the cops. She kept her gaze on Sam, keeping herself on guard.

“Y’know, I get that pretty often, but I usually understand anyway,” Sam raised his eyebrows, “Try me. Why’re you opening this door?”

“Dean’ll be okay with this,.. He has to be…”

“I don’t know why he wouldn’t be. You’re human. And he knows how screwed up I was after you died.”

She squeezed it gently, “you’re a good man… Th-thank you…”

Sam smiles at her a little, shrugging, about to answer before the next alarm went off,and he stood to grab the syringe.

She kisses his chest, “I’m sorry…”

He nods quietly, just holding onto her.

Sam looked back at her, rolling his eyes and moving up toward the door, “My problem? That you’re takin’ a long way to unlock a door, and you’re gonna get caught someday. Why are you even breaking in here?”

“I won’t… Sam I promise…” She bit her lip, “I… I wanna… H-hold your hand… If that’s ok?”

Sam looked at her for a moment before nodding, walking over and sitting by her, wrapping his hand in hers lightly.

She shook her head, thinking better of asking him to touch her, distract her. “Just… Thank you… For being so kind to me…”

He shrugged his shoulders, “You’re welcome. Just... don’t make me regret this, Ruby.”

“I’ll just… I’ll be fine Sam… You can pick Dean. It’s okay.” She assures, kissing him back.

sam answered quietly, “I don’t know if I will be.”
