This hymn resonates with me lately. It brings to mind that God is our only comfort whether in dark cold nights or blistering days of our lives. And unlike the earthly sources of our joy and constancy, he remains eternal and unchangeable.
“I dethrone [God] in my heart if I demand that He act in ways that satisfy my idea of justice.”

I made this playlist to help me keep sane and unmoved during this trying and uncertain times.
The Lord Jesus Christ be your Anchor. For he holds. And he holds fast.
Abide with me; fast falls the eventide. The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide. When other helpers fail and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, abide with me. Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day. Earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away. Change and decay in all around I see. O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
A little note to self.
It is curious that the vogue pursuit today is the knowledge–the experience–of good and evil. In fact, we have reached the point where the lines separating the two regions disappear altogether. We moderns talk about sexual liberation and yet, even without AIDS and a host of other sexually transmitted diseases, we know the morning after that “when people are unfettered they are freed, but not yet free.” From what does such a sexual liberation free us? From homes where family members care about each other—turning them instead into places where selfish individuals constantly look after their own independence? Or how about the freedom to end the lives of unborn infants? How free is the woman who realizes she has taken her child’s life? How free is a jet-set yuppie who finds that he can’t quit cocaine whenever he wants to? A corporate executive may have millions by breaking all the rules, but is he free?

You will never find Jesus so precious as when the world is one vast howling wilderness. Then he is like a rose blooming in the midst of the desolation, a rock rising above the storm.
Robert Murray M'Cheyne
When faith hath bathed a man’s heart in the blood of Christ, it is so mollified that it quickly dissolves into tears of godly sorrow; so that if Christ but turn and look upon him, oh, then with Peter he goes out and weeps bitterly. And this is true Gospel mourning; this is right evangelical repenting.
Edward Fisher’s Marrow of Modern Divinity as qtd. in God’s Way of Holiness

I just thought I had to post this one. Reading this article changed the way I look at teaching special children. This one’s truly worth your time reading.Â
GOD is ABSOLUTE, accessible, ALL-KNOWING, all-powerful, ALL-SUFFICIENT, awe-inspiring, COMMUNICATIVE, compassionate, CREATIVE, omniscient, OMNIPOTENT, omnipresent, IMMUTABLE, holy, RIGHTEOUS, sovereign, LOVE, merciful, + TRINITY.
AMEN!Â
I’ve always loved sign language. I highly encourage anyone who is considering a role in the special education field to take at least one class on ASL.Â
It will help greatly in the way you are able to communicate with those who otherwise can’t use their mouths to express themselves.Â

Wise, helpful, and life-giving counsel from David Powlison (CCEF) on how he would respond to the statement, “I feel far from God". HT: Between Two Worlds
I guess these are what each of us should contemplate on from time to time- our sufferings and sins that can cause us to stray away from Him.Â
