Personally I think that the messy love triangle in The Legend of Korra makes sense when you remember that it involved a 17yo girl that has been isolated her whole life with no people her age around her and an 18yo orphan guy that spent his life being too busy parenting his younger brother and trying to survive to go through normal teenage experiences. The most well-adjusted of the three when it comes to social skills was the 18yo orphan rich girl who was also seemingly in her first real relationship lmao, just like the other two. It was annoying to me too, but it's kinda realistic for a bunch of people that age to be messy, and the resolution ended up being also realistic and pretty mature, actually.

The way Korra was raised piss me off so bad. Like, oh, wow, the 17yo girl that you've kept locked up and isolated her whole life without even allowing her to have friends her age, that you people trained only in the elements and never gave any actual political training doesn't know how the world works??? Who would've thought!!! They fucked her over so badly
