“crowley, wait! slow down!” 

you held onto the back of his seat as he, you and aziraphale sped through the mostly empty streets of london, crowley driving recklessly as you and aziraphale scolded him. 

“i’ve driven at this speed countless times! plus, it’s our night to celebrate! we’ve avoided the end of the world and the end of our lives, i think i can live a little dangerously.” 

you yelped, hitting your head as he slammed into the parking space in front of the bookshop. he turned, cursing softly as he heard your grunt of pain.  

“my dear [name] are you alright?”  

aziraphale opened the door, and you stumbled out, kissing your teeth. “yeah, yeah i’m fine.” crowley came around, and put a hand in yours, his gesture apologetic. you rolled your eyes, and mumbled a small, “it’s okay, crowley,” as you squeezed his hand. aziraphale opened the door, and crowley held an arm out. “after you, darling.” 

you walked in, and immediately felt at home among the stacks of old books, and scrolls. the smell of ancient paper, ink and something distinctly aziraphale greeted you like a warm hug. 

aziraphale took your hand and led you and crowley to the back of the shop, asking if you’d like some cocoa. “thank you, aziraphale that would be lovely!” crowley waved the offer away, and pulled you into his lap and kissing you, chuckling as you let out a small gasp. 

you couldn’t ignore aziraphale’s loving gaze watching your interaction with the only other being he loved, and you called to him, saying, “forget the cocoa, angel. i just want to be with the both of you.” 

he made his way to the couch, and sat next to you both. you sighed contently as you settled yourself between the two, aziraphale giving in to your pouty lips as he cupped your cheek, kissing you softly. 

you reciprocated eagerly, pressing your lips to his in a somewhat desperate attempt to get closer to him. he held a hand at the back of your head, and another on your thigh. 

crowley scoffed affectionately, his glasses now on the table in front of you. “jealous, anthony?” you spoke softly, a smirk on your face. “bah. i don’t get jealous, c’mere.” his kiss was scorching and intense, but no less passionate as his tongue parted your lips, and started to explore. you gasped softly as you felt aziraphale’s well manicured hands reach your more intimate parts, his lips on your neck and collarbone with vigor. 

“not on the couch, aziraphale,” you muttered into crowley’s lips. the angel smiled. “well then, to the bedroom we go.”

the three of you lay in a sweaty, content heap, breathing heavy and eyes glazed over with bliss. “hey there,” crowley muttered over your head to aziraphale, who responded with a tired grunt and a kiss to crowley’s palm. 

“i gotta pee,” you mumbled, as you untangled yourself from their embrace. aziraphale chuckled as crowley pulled a face at you, which you returned. 

while you were in the bathroom, crowley and aziraphale lay in content silence, sharing small kisses and encouraging words. 

“angel,” crowley mumbled, his eyelids drooping, mind slipping into the blissful state of sleep. “i really love [name]. a lot. and you, you’re perfect. absolutely wonderful, y’know?” aziraphale nodded, cupping his lover’s cheek. “i know, my dear boy. i think you’re amazing as well. utterly stunning.” crowley smiled, putting his head on aziraphale’s (now clothed) chest. 

you made your way out of the bathroom, now clad in a sleep shirt and shorts. you smiled at aziraphale as he beckoned you to the bed; you climb in, spooning crowley. 

“goodnight, dearest,” he mumbled, taking your hand as you fade into a comfortably sound sleep.

you're standing alone, vulnerable and bare, as the voices screamed from the black mass, taunting you, teasing you.

tearing you apart with words alone.

you scream and cry, turning to run as the mass grows limbs that seem to be made of tar; you're running, running, losing the mass.

then you trip.

your body seems to give up as you sob on the floor, your voice growing hoarse as your sobs get more frenzied. the sticky black mass surrounds you with it's poisonous tendrils-

"[name]!"

a voice calls out from beyond the cocoon of shame, guilt and regret. the voice is worried, almost pleading with you as it grows louder and louder-

"[NAME]"

your eyes fly open, and alec is looking over you, worry etched into his features. his warm brown eyes soften as your lower lip quivers, tears pooling in your eyes.

alec runs a hand over his face as he pulls you to him, whispering soft reassuring words as your frenzied sobs quiet to small hiccups. his hand goes to cup your cheek, as you look up at him. "sorry," you mumble, wiping your eyes with the heel of your hands. you have snot running down your face, and you look like hell.

(he means this in an "i'm sorry you have to deal with this" way, not a, "i think you're unattractive" way. he's sure you know this)

your boyfriend smiles sadly, shrugging you off, and gets out of bed. he can feel you watching him go, your gaze lingering on him blankly.

he doesn't like to see you cry.

he pours you a glass of water, and grabs a washcloth, wetting it with warm water. as a victim of nightmares himself, he understood how draining they could be for someone.

he hates that the "someone" in question this time was you.

he makes his way back to the bedroom, quietly urging you to sit up as he wipes the dried tears and snot off your face. you feel your eyes droop as he offers you the glass of water; you take it gratefully, whispering a "thank you" as he waves you off. "you wanna talk about it?"

"no, i don't. can we just...lie here? together?"

he nods, and you set the glass of water on the nightstand. he crawls into the bed beside you, mumbling, "do you want a kiss?"

you nod enthusiastically, smiling as he leaves a soft kiss on your lips, grunting softly when you return the affection with a sudden vigor, kissing him deeply. he pulls you on top of his lap, and grips your sleep shirt. he feels your hands find purchase in his hair, on his chest, anywhere, to reassure that's he's here, he's real and he's not leaving.

his hands find your hips, and grips them tightly, tight enough to leave bruises, but you don't mind it. it helps you feel grounded. he flips you both, and puts his hands on either side of your face, tongues exploring each other's mouths. he presses himself into you, groaning as you buck your hips up, eager to feel him. he returns the gesture, and your shirt is thrown off.

the silence after your frantic love making is comforting, the only thing to interrupt it the occasional attempt at pillow talk, that ultimately leads to you laughing at alec's poor conversation skills; he'll then kiss you again, pulling you toward him for soft, intimate kisses along your neck and face.

you both stay that way; kissing and cuddling, exchanging kind words and semi-nonsensical jokes with no punchlines until he yawns in between kisses; his eyes droop. you kiss the corner of his lips, and you get comfy beside him, pressed against his chest.

"goodnight, darling. sweet dreams."

you fall asleep to the sound of the water outside, and the feeling of his chest rising and falling.

you sat up in crowley's stiff white couch, your eyes wide as he flushed a bright red, waving you off with a glare. "don't start, [name]."

"six thousand fucking years? and not one kiss?"

crowley shrugged. "i've never found the time to try it out.....or the right person to try it out with." you chewed the inside of your cheek, fingers resting ever so slightly above your lips. "well....i could help you!"

the demon ran a hand through his hair, chewing his bottom lip. "you would do that?"

"yeah! then you won't be a kiss virgin,"

you muttered that last part, laughing as crowley threw a harmless little knick knack at you. "rude."

"cheeky."

he got up, stretching out his long limbs as he sauntered his way over to you. he was nervous; you were the first person, fuck that, first being he'd ever really wanted to try anything romantic with.

you'd met the demon in st. james park, after feeding peas to the ducks. he'd seen you around, either by the bookshop, or walking with a friend in the park.

crowley had finally worked up the nerve to talk to you, after a week of hyping himself up.

"hello there-"

"it took you long enough"

he'd stopped in his tracks at that remark. "excuse me?"

you looked up from norville, a wily old mallard, and smirked at the ginger.

"you've been over there staring for a while. i was worried for a bit."

crowley's tongue darted out to wet his lips as you raised a brow.

"oh?"

"yeah."

he blinked, coming out of his head as you patted the seat next to you. "now, if you want, i could take it slow."

"i'd prefer it." you nodded, and took his face in your hands, swiping a thumb across his lower lip. "ready?" he could only nod as you leaned in, placing your lips on his.

he knew it would feel good, but not this good. your lips were soft, and tasted like the white wine you'd been sipping on 20 minutes ago. he put his hands around your waist, but kept his lips still as you pulled away.

"like that, yeah? you can just copy what i do, if you don't know what to do."

he copied you as you lips connected again, cursing softly as you teeth clashed together. you smiled, encouraging him to try again by kissing the corner of his mouth. "before we try again, though..."

you took the glasses off his face, titling your head as he closed his eyes. crowley barely resisted, so lost in bliss, but once he realized what was happening he shut his eyes and sucked in a breath, saying, "i can't, [name].  what if you hate me? if i open my eyes, will i be considered lovable, still?"

you furrowed your brow. "i could never hate you, crowley, if that's what you mean. you know that, right? you're one of the best friends i've ever had, and so, so worthy of love, my darling."

he willed his tears away as he opened his eyes.

and you gasped.

his serpentine eyes looked up at you hovering over him, pupils slightly blown. "oh, crowley, you are gorgeous. an absolutely stunning creatu-"

he smashed his lips to yours, surprising you as he put his hands more firmly on your hips. you bit his bottom lip, causing him to open his mouth.

crowley groaned softly as your hands found his vibrant ginger hair, and your tongue explored his mouth. you let out a breathy moan as he pulled away. his lips were swollen and his pupils were extremely dilated as he gazed up at you.

"wow, hi."

you chuckled softly, putting a hand on his chest. "hey there." crowley kissed your lips again, softer this time, and more intimate. you reciprocated, but broke apart with a giggle.

"well, i've been waiting to do that for a little bit."

crowley smirked. "well, y'know, i haven't really done anything more than kissing.....if you catch my drift...."

you stood, nodding. "i could teach you a little bit more, then?"

"i'm looking forward to it."

he took your hand, leading you to his bedroom.

he was falling in love again.

he came to this realization as he watched you swing your hips to the upbeat pop nonsense playing from your little bluetooth radio. he was sat at the little two person table by the window, holding a warm cup of tea in his hands, trying to ignore the rain outside.

he didn't know how to feel about it; on the one hand, it was exhilarating, feeling his stomach come alive with butterflies when you came near, or how his cheeks heated up when you said something naughty.

but it was scary, too. he didn't like the idea of feeling so strongly for another person after tess; she had said he was perfect, and still found a way to cheat. what if you did the same? what if he wasn't good enough for anyone? what if--

"what's going on in that head of yours, alec?"

you sat across from the jaded detective inspector, your eyes soft and holding his gaze steadily.

he shook his head, turning to the window. the rain had only gotten harder in the few minutes the two of you held that intimate eye contact.

"nothing, darling. just thinking."

"you do that a lot, alec. you want to talk about it?"

he shook his head again, sighing softly. you tilted your head, clutching your own mug of [hot beverage]. "then i'll talk, if that's okay with you."

he motioned for you to go on.

"you...alec you bring out this song in my heart. a song that used to be sad little piano notes that would occasionally 'ding' on a one off date. this song had no rhythm, no real tune. no feeling in it.

but you came up to me on that unusually cold summer day, holding that little coffee cup in those big ass hands,"

he gave a chuckle at that as he remembered. the cup had been comically small in his hands as he handed it to you.

"and you asked me out, all apprehensive and shit. and it felt...it felt good. good to know not everyone had this unnecessary swagger about them, this unrealistic confidence. so i said yes; and my heart, that sad little simple song, it fucking......swelled into this big symphony. it felt so good.

it grew louder as you stuttered and stumbled through our dates, as you walked me to my door, and kissed me on our third date. you were so nervous, love. it was endearing."

he felt his eyes well up as you took his hand in yours, lacing your fingers together.

"you took this little song, and single handedly turned it into this....symphony over the course of three dates."

alec had tears running down his face as you finished your monologue, his body heaving with the force of his sobs.

you stood, motioning for him to do the same. he wrapped his arms around you, melting into your embrace. you sniffled softly as he buried his head into your shoulder. "i love you so much, alec." you whispered, as he mumbled a small, "i love you, too."

and he felt it. he felt his little song swell into so much more

[first name] [last name] bounced the crying one year old on her hip, chewing on her nail as the wailing grew louder. "oh, gia please, mummy can't figure out what's wrong..." she pounded her fists on her shoulder, incomprehensible babbles intertwined with the wailing.

[name] felt close to tears herself as her shitty ex, drew, kept explaining why he couldn't take gia for his weekends. "i've got a trip with the bosses, [name]. you understand, surely?"

"no, i fucking don't. but what i do understand is that i'll never get a real reason from you. thanks for doing your part," the [h/c] woman whispered, venom lacing her words as she slammed the receiver down. "bloody hell," she choked out, as tears threatened to spill over.

gia looked at [name], her [e/c] eyes drooping sleepily. you sniffled, dropping onto the couch, and looking over at the easel sitting in the corner. [name] felt her lips lift in a watery smile as she looked at the unfinished painting of a bouquet of pink and white roses collecting dust in the corner.

"soon enough. i'll finish it soon enough."

and with that she closed her eyes, and slept.

"morning, miller!" ellie turned to face her friend, handing her a mug of tea. "morning, [name]. how's gigi?" [name] smiled softly. "she's a bit cranky...i think she's coming down with something." you looked worn, as if you barley slept anymore. ellie tilted her head, starting to speak before a deep voice interrupted her.

"miller, we have a callout, a man scared his cows were stolen by his rival. let's go." ellie smirked at her friend as he looked away, and [name]'s gaze focused on the floor as she tried not to laugh out loud. alec turned toward her, his reading glasses sliding off his nose. "[last name] are you alright? what's so interesting on the floor?" she looked up and shrugged, hiding her laughter. "thought i saw something, sir. you alright? good? good! have fun with the cows and whatnot!"

"yeah, uhm, yeah."

ellie shot a look at her friend as the two walked off, eyebrows raised. [name] rolled her eyes back, mouthing, 'i panicked!'

as [name] stepped into her house, a harried alice morrison (her trusted babysitter and next door neighbor) met her head on. "hey, ms. [last name]! gigi is asleep, i cleaned up the living room, and i'm late for a date with nicki; oh, and i think gigi is coming down with a small cold. i gave her children's tylenol, and some juice."

the [your height] woman nodded, pulling alice's weekly pay out of her pocket. she smiled, and hugged [name]. "see you tomorrow!" and with that she was gone.

she looked in on gigi, who was sleeping semi soundly. she was warm; but didn't seem to be in too much pain, so [name] shut off the light and left the door slightly ajar. seeing as the house was clean and gia was asleep, she decided to pull out the half done painting in the corner of the room, waving away the dust it had collected.

the painting was still in good shape, the color just a bit faded. [name] made her way to her room, shedding her work clothes for comfy sweats, a t-shirt and a smock, an unrestrained smile on her face.

alec stood on [name]'s doorstep, his hand trembling as he raised it to the doorbell. he didn't want her to think it was too odd, coming to check on one of his subordinates, but a small part of him did want that; an excuse to go home and forget he'd ever pined after [name].

no, he was going to confess, and perhaps she'd reveal that she felt the same about him.

he rang the doorbell, and bit the inside of his cheek, his eyes trained on the pot of succulents on the step by his foot.

"hello, sir," [name] exclaimed, an undertone of surprise in her words. he tried not to stare at her, admiring the uncharacteristically bright glow decorating [name]'s features. her [e/c] eyes were shining with joy. he smiled softly, taking in her [h/c] hair and the splotches of paint on her face and hands before remembering that he was here to speak. "oh, uhm, i wanted to...to talk. with you. can i come in? if you aren't busy of course, and if you are i can come ba-"

[name] ushered him inside, closing the door and offering him a beverage. he declined and held out the flowers in his hands. "these are for you, by the way. she felt her face heat up, as she muttered a small, "thank you". alec wrung his hands, looking around, eyes landing on the canvas. "you...you paint? well, obviously, there's paint on your clothes. did you paint this?" his warm brown eyes were wide with admiration.

[name] nodded, suddenly demure. "i started this months ago.....the flowers are gone, but the roses you gave me could be incorporated into it." alec smiled at [name], saying, "it's beautiful. should've been an artist, 'stead of a bloody receptionist! you could be the next van gogh!"

he turned to see [name] smiling at him warmly, arms folded. "well, since drew left, i have to do what i can."

"you could sell this! did you want to be a receptionist?"

"no, but, we can't all get what we want, can we? i'm doing what i have to to support my kid and i, okay?"

alec could hear the sadness under her anger, and decided not to push the matter further. the two of them got quiet, [name] going back to her painting, alec sitting on the arm of the couch. it stayed like this for a bit, until she turned to face him again. "why're you here, sir? did you come to give me flowers? to compliment my painting?" he frowned, softly looking toward the window, focus on the setting sun. "no, i...i came to tell you...that i fancy you, [name]."

she almost dropped her brush, as she muttered a small, "bloody hell". as she looked at her boss, his face seemed to light up with the red of the setting sun behind him. "well, that's good. i like you too, di hardy." alec stood and looked at you, an uncharacteristically soft smile on his face. he whispered two words before putting his lips on hers and kissing her intimately:

"call me alec."

jessica was watching you across the corridor, a bottle of whiskey in her hands, and a scowl etched into her features. 

she was watching the boy from the floor above--some twenty-something man child who had too much gel in his hair and a smug expression on his average face--chat you up, arm on the wall next to your head, trying to explain the plot of some anime (that you’d watched over a hundred times). 

you had a fake smile stretched on your lips, while your eyes quickly turned from his face to you. jessica felt your voice enter her mind: ‘help me out, jones!’

‘you’ve got telekinesis, [name].’

‘i don’t wanna hurt the dude!’

she rolled her eyes, and briskly walked over to you both, cracking her knuckles. “hey.” The man turned to her, frowning. “can’t you see we’re talking?” you slid out from under his arm quickly. “no you were trying to explain an anime i’ve seen already, dennis. i was trying not to do this,” 

you used your ability to lift the man into the air, eyes narrowed in concentration. dennis went pale, his eyes widening. “you’re one of those powered people?”

jessica lifted the man by his collar. “and i should’ve done worse. take this as mercy, dipshit.” dennis scrambled into the elevator, passing both trish walker and luke cage. luke turned to look at him, then at you and jessica. 

“who was that? and what did you do?” trish asked, nodding at you in greeting. you snorted. “insulted me. you know what he said? “you’re kinda pretty for a black girl. i thought we left that shit behind.” luke put an arm around you protectively. “did he touch you? at all?” you shook your head. “nah, but i was about to throw him through a window.” 

trish laughed, as you wiped your hands on your jeans. “now, you said something about taking us to breakfast?” she asked, putting her arm through yours. “i did. luke, is claire around?”

“waiting outside. we can go to the diner in harlem, they make the best eggs.”

“shit you mean ‘betsy’s food ‘n’ grill’? she’s still running it?”

jessica took your hand, a small smile on her face. “you know betsy’ll never die. she’s immortal or something.” the four of you walked into the elevator, and anticipated breakfast, ready to enjoy the day.
