Witchers are literate. They have to be, to learn about monsters and potion recipes. This can result in some awkward realizations when people see witchers (like Geralt) absorbed in books.Â

esp cheap novels where he mutters about the monster being written wrong
ehehehe, totally. The wolven witchers share books with inaccurate monster portrayals so they can complain about them together.
âI canâtâ you canât kill a vampire with holy water!? Theyâre sword oils, not glorified waterââ
âI mean⌠I guess I understand why people think silver kills werewolvesâ BECAUSE MY SWORD IS MADE OF SILVER, BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO KILL THEM YOURSELF.â
âYouâre gonna love this one, the vampires are shinyâ

"Oh yeah you can kill a basilisk with a mirror. If you bash its head in with it."
âNo, you canât. It would kill you.â
âWas that a challenge?â
*sounds of scuffling as the witchers scramble to be the first one to kill a basilisk with just a mirror*

did the font on Tumblr change?!?!
Ugh..... I promise I donât mean to be gone for months at a time. I just have no free time to do anything in college. Donât be an art major if you want to do other projects, yâall.
Regis: What good could possibly come out of having so many people murdered?
Eredin: Less traffic during rush hours.
idk why the art I make is so shit quality on tumblr when I post it. Anyone know why?
Geralt: Why can't you work with me? I hate how these assholes always thinks a girl's place is in the kitchen.
Ciri: It's okay. That's where all the knives are kept.

Witcher eyes!
Each school would have different colored eyes (of course, there is a range). I just really like the idea of witchers with eyes that are different from one another. The schoolâs different mutagens spit out different eye colors but isnât uncommon for some witchers to have eyes that are not the typical color (usually blue, except for manticore) or they have heterochromatic eyes.Â

BONUS:
The most useless item in the Witcher games:
Dettlaffâs knife.
Iâve always wondered what the hell heâs got that thing for
my tablet deleted my work halfway through but at least I managed to save this⌠also I donât know what happened with all those Katakan paws and legs, they lok terrible
I blame @velvettodraws for introducing me to the concept of baby Katakan support cuddle piles and to the headcanon that every time Dettlaff is sad a bunch a babies show up to comfort him
That headcanon is 100% true!! I love the way you draw katakan pups <3 such cute lilâ fluff balls!

Bad sketch, but in honor of @awrypath being sick with a cold. Because what better way to get over being sick than dragging a witcher down with you?
Let me just rant for a little bit here.Â
The Witcher universe states dimeritium prevents magic use, right? Can we all agree on that? They use dimeritium cuffs to prevent mages from casting magic. Geralt has dimeritium bombs for magical enemies.
âŚ
so why the hell does the Ursine and Wolven armor have dimeritium plates?!?!?! IT MAKES NO SENSEÂ
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
shells-void said:
Maybe smelting the compound into plate negates its magic cancelling effects? Dimeritium bombs send a cloud of dust into the air, probably from the mineralâs unrefined form. Maybe it turns out that it makes a strong ass metal and someone figured it out, or maybe being another into plate allows for protection directional magic attacks but doesnât hinder the wearerâs abilities at all since its magic negation has been controlled? Just spitballin here
Yeah, I was thinking that, too. But why would making dimeritium into plates be a different process from making dimeritium handcuffs?
Idk. I feel like it was laziness and oversight on CD Projekt Redâs part. You can craft dimeritium from dark steel and meteorite silver ingots. So⌠dimeritium is a compound. Maybe the dimeritium plates used in witcher armor is more dark steel than meteorite silver, resulting in something very similar to dimeritium but it is magic resistant instead of magic preventing.
@kantala13 said (in a reblog):
Could it be possible that dimeritum is only effective at stopping magic casting when it completely encircles the caster. I know of a few books where the anti-magic stuff works that way. So the bombs works because the cloud covers the target, and cuffs work because they encircle the wrists, but the armors plating presumably has gaps and therefore allows casting while still being resistant to head on magical attacks?
I like that idea. In order to interfere with magic abilities, there needs to be an unbroken series of dimeritium. So armor plates wouldnât prevent magic use. But it would resist magical attacks because the magic would be directed at the witcher himself.
@jormundgandr said (in a reblog):
I think it might have something to do with the style of magic that Witchers use, itâs not blood magic or inherited magic, but leans toward using the amulet I think in conjunction with the rune signs
I donât think I know what you mean as blood magic versus inherited magic versus witcher magic. Because Geralt is the son of a sorceress, which is why he is arguably better at magic than other witchers.Â
when you accidentally tag the wrong person D:
@ boringid said (in a reblog):
How exactly does it prevent magic use? skin contact and/or being in the path of magic cast? Maybe it works as handcuffs via skin contact, and as plates to disrupt the âflowâ but itâs fine since thereâs no skin-contact? Even if the plates are exposed unless theyâre near his face itâd be unlikely that Geralt could accidentally touch them (for example if pinned) since he wears gloves constantly. I like the idea of the different ratio of components changing the dimiterium properties though.
Ahh, new ideas! <3 I like the skin contact one now, too! That makes loads of sense. Now to make a post about what weâve decided about dimeritium :)
