i sealed the top off with a green paper and used green ink to write my sigil (amplification), then tied it off. all the ingredients used are just things lying around the house. one of them is placed on my table where i work, and the other is something i can bring around.

i used a lot of protection symbols because i realized that there are so many ways to earn money if you trade off your peace, energy, and integrity. i could be hired into a good-paying job that takes advantage of me, come across opportunities to steal from others, or get a high-paying client that disrespects me – those are things i didn't want to happen.

Hi everyone! After a much longer wait than I initially intended, I have finally finished my book on herb associations, and have uploaded a PDF version to both ko-fi and Google Drive. I decided to create this project after finding myself largely dissatisfied by the information available on the mass market--often being Wicca leaning or at least heavily influenced. I decided I wanted to create a (mostly) non-denominational, secular, baneful magic friendly resource guide. Because I largely sourced from other practitioners or the internet, I wanted to provide this for free, as the information is not inherently my intellectual property. The reason why I do have a paid version is purely for the effort I went through, and only if you feel like supporting me.

Again, this book is NOT my intellectual property, and this information is readily available online, I just decided to put all of it in one place.

Held from 7-15 June, Vestalia is a sacred festival dedicated to Vesta, goddess of the hearth. Here are some ideas to celebrate each day, including their historical basis:

The 9th of June was the day the three most senior Vestal Virgins prepared mola salsa, a salt based cake offering, and presented it as an offering to Vesta. A recipe for mola salsa can be found here.

On the final day of Vestalia, festivities were concluded with a cleansing of the temple storehouse and sweeping of filth/debris. This was followed by the ritual disposal of sweepings into the Tiber. This was done to prepare for the upcoming harvest.

The final days of Vestalia are a great time to clean out your pantry, fridge, or freezer. Donate any unperishable, unexpired food items to a local shelter or food pantry. This is also a good time to do a floor cleansing, or a simple mundane sweep or vacuum around your home.

That being said my guesses for how this idea came about:

1.) Back in the day worshipping more than like 2 Gods as a pagan was looked down upon. Anyone worshipping a handful of God was a "god hoarder" and treating them like knick knacks. So I guess, if you only worship two gods in total, two small shrines isn't seen as overly demanding

2.) The idea that certain Theoi absolutely cannot be worshiped together ever, thus need separate shrines: biggest example I've seen is Athena and Ares, second I've seen is Aphrodite and Artemis

As summer is approaching, I thought I'd post about my witchcraft practice at the beach...

🐚 Use the sea water to cleanse your body and soul. Breathe in deeply, dive in, and spend a few seconds underwater to recite in your head "I'm getting rid of anything that isn't serving me, and release it all to the ocean".

🐚 Draw sigils onto the sand. It's a simple one, but can be quite powerful, especially if you keep on drawing it repeatedly as you sunbathe.

🐚 Whisper a protection spell as you apply suncream. This isn't just about protecting yourself from UV light. This simple act of self-care can ward off much more than that.

🐚 Collect shells for your altar. I think this one is my favourite. I'm always on the lookout for small items with strong significance to decorate my altar. Shells are the perfect items to have in preparation for Midsummer.

🐚 Sand has a strong association to time. Use it for any spells that require you to slow down and be in the present. Depending on where you are, the sand between your hands may be a thousand years old!

🐚 Meditate at sunrise, facing towards the ocean. Repeat wishes and manifestations while breathing in the salt air. If you ask something of the waves, you might just get it.

A little charm for those days when you need to remember your worth and call your power back:

Take a black pouch. Add cinnamon chips or sticks (personal power, inner fire), mullein (courage), yarrow (protection and boundary setting), and black tourmaline (banishing negativity).

Once you've added everything, hold the pouch in your hand and say, "I am not afraid of my own depths. I will not hide. I grow, I change, and I begin again, stronger than before."

There's a certain poetry to finishing this right as it's getting dark and blue outside.

I was loosely following a wassail recipe I found but made some substitutions, and this might be closer to a mulled cider than a true wassail, but either way it's delicious.

Ingredients:

-64 floz (~2 litres) of apple cider

-5 mid sized oranges

-1 regular or 2 small lemons

-1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

-3 or 4 cinnamon sticks (I used three since one was chonky)

-fresh ginger root (or 1/4 tsp ground ginger)

-15 whole cloves or 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

-1 Tablespoon of honey

Optional: your choice of rum or brandy

Preparations:

Juice four of the five oranges and your lemon(s). Slice the fifth orange and poke the whole cloves into the slices.

Thinly slice the ginger root. I ended up only using one of the two pictured, and each of those were about 4 inches long or so.

Add all of the ingredients to your cooking vessel and bring to a medium heat. You want to see a bit of bubbling in the liquid (not a rolling boil) and a froth/foam will form on top. This is fine!

Reduce to a low simmer (around a 3 out of 10) for 30-40 minutes. Stir everything in the pot in about five minute intervals.
