Stripes slipped back into bed carefully, where he left his very stunned partner. Scorch only managed to close his mouth when the technician placed a tray between them, filled with cookies and other sweets, fruits and some juice.

“Don’t look so surprised. You said yes, and I was expecting you to say yes. since we can’t have a true engagement party, I decided that at least we could celebrate a little by ourselves.” Leaning forward he placed a happy kiss onto the commando’s nose finally knocking the man out of his stasis.

“I have to admit I still have no idea what just happened…” He couldn’t continue, because Stripes just stuffed his mouth full with a strawberry. Chewing dutifully, he still looked damn confused, but cute and in love.

“I woke you up, asked you to marry me and you said yes. Now we are celebrating.” Grinned Stripes and he felt so utterly silly, so unlike himself but still happy. The commando didn’t even think before he agreed.

Stripes glanced at his husband’s battered ship.

Scorch saw that one hit home hard. Ouch.

Crossing his arms over his chest in a very childlike posture, Scorch considered sticking his tongue out just for spite. It sure would wind Niner up.

“You obviously haven’t met Sarge,” Scorch replied dryly. “I learned how to have fun on my own.”

This was the moment where he could either continue bickering, or admit to his fault. It pointed towards the latter. Scorch knew it had been far from his smartest move. Trying hard not to look like an embarrassed, naughty child he bit the inside of his cheek before throwing his hands out in defeat.

“Okay, Niner: 1, Scorch: 0. It was stupid and you can have the fekking det if it’s so shabla important.” Scorch sulked. It was an almost apology.

Niner ground his teeth together as his eyes bore into Scorch’s. He was looking for any sign of humour, making sure the other commando really was apologizing. He wouldn’t let himself be tricked again.

After a moment of silence, Niner exhaled and took a step back. He placed one hand on his hip.

An almost apology from Delta Squad. It was something.

He didn’t back down as Niner did. Staying alert at all times was what he’d been taught since childhood. Rolling his eyes exaggeratedly Scorch let out a loud, long sigh.

Scorch shrieked in one most undignified way as gravity without warning shifted and he crashed onto his back on the ground. Disgusting squish from the pumpkin smeared all over his back, but he had more pressing problems as it was…

The cold, wet hands over his torso made him scream out, just like he was being tortured. Trashing around on the ground he tried to throw Stripes off, but completely lacking the leverage. “You don’t love me anymore!” he half shouted half laughed, writhing around on the floor under the assault. 

“Ladies and Gentlemen, the big commando is finally down! You can witness historical moment…” Stripes shouted, half laughing, while never stopping tickling his husband to death, not letting Scorch roll away from the torture.

Stripes glanced at his husband’s battered ship.

“My ego is flying high? You’re the one bragging,” he said with a shit eating grin. Still he could see that Stripes was nervous. Sighing a little Scorch wrapped his arms around the troublesome Trooper, pulling him in for a long bear hug. Hopefully he could squeeze some sense into him.

“Thank you.” He pressed out as he disappeared in Scorch’s tight embrace. He started to realise that the commando washisbest friend and he was grateful for that.

Stripes had to blink twice before the full meaning hit him. He looked up at the Commando stepping into his room, and while knowing he shouldn’t take those words by their original meanings, he couldn’t resist. 

He reached into his pocket and picked out his knife, then reached for a pair of balled up but clean socks. Standing up he looked at Scorch with terrifying seriousness. 

With all the dignity he could muster Scorch stepped more fully into the room, striding over to the bunk somewhere in the corner. Like ordered he sat down, back turned to Stripes. At least the socks were clean, he thought to himself.

“Don’tmove or I’ll cut your ear.” He said and with that he stuffed the commando’s mouth full with the balled up socks. He could only think of one truly boring thing… and that was regulations.

The soothing pattern felt good over his skin. Too good. He’d probably end up falling asleep at some point, which would be better, really. The only thing that kept him sain was his lover, otherwise he’d have killed someone as a side effect of his inability to move. Stripes was his sweet darling, and he’d make this up to him as soon as he could walk again.

If Scorch could, he’d have snickered. Stripes looked very funny like that, with a scrunched up, angry face. Innocently he glanced up at him, cocking his head slightly to the side as if saying “What?”

Stripes did promise that he would kiss it better. He was no liar, so he knelt in front of the commando, who was covered in bruises and breathed a healing kiss over the bump on his knee, on his scraped belly, the already scarred palms, the purple marks on his neck, then finally on his split lips and broken nose. 

“There… that should make the bacta work faster, my hero.” Then because he could he leaned down ans pressed an emotion filled kiss to the skin right over the commando’s heart.
