why is the idea of systemic oppression directly rewarding people for perpetuating it so unbelievable to everyone. like people do not exist in a vacuum we exist in a society. men are misogynistic because it is in their best interest to be misogynistic and to actively fight against it requires them to sacrifice their privileges for the good of other people with no reward but knowing they are doing the right thing. women can also be misogynistic because they can be afforded some smaller privileges over other women for doing so. staying in line lets them keep a higher position on the pecking order over the women who don't. it's all about self-interest and systems rewarding people for perpetuating them. any framework that refuses to address this is doomed to fail and completely useless for anything other than attacking other minorities. genuinely why is this controversial *remembers people enjoy attacking minorities* ohhhh
