I think these are dragon!Min-ji and fox!Celine prime days Guardian form before, yknow. The death of their third Guardian.
For them to have their former full form, it could happen when Gwi-ma once again, attacks the Sanctuary in what he would gloat to be his final and greatest takeover.
Min-ji and Celine fought as best as they can, but they ultimately fell as they are not whole and Gwi-ma using his full might.
Miyeong who is fully in control of her bulgae self attempts to help.
Mira and Zoey help in the fray and focuses on ensuring the people are safe.
Rumi is feeling helpless despite helping in guiding the people to safety and has been taught by the Sanctuary's weapon master.
Everyone feels the two Guardians fall.
Something in Miyeong snaps (she probably knows about her past life as the third Guardian at this point), mauls and burns the demons to ashes in an attempt to kill Gwi-ma. But, ultimately fail.
The young trio, feeling distraught and anger, relentlessly attack the demons in retaliation.
As the two Guardians slowly succumb to their injuries, they suddenly feel a sense of hope.
What the young trio and Miyeong didn't realize, is that the people are praying for the two Guardians. Giving them their hope for a bright future for the Sanctuary and end Gwi-ma's attempt to destroy the light.
As the young trio and Miyeong gets surrounded by the demons and Gwi-ma, an eclipse occurs.
All of them then hear a loud roar as a massive golden dragon appears and wreak fire to the demons and Gwi-ma.
When the demons turn to attack Min-ji, a massive fox leaps out and turns them to ice. Shattering them in turn.
Min-ji is above the young trio and Miyeong, whereas Celine is in front of them. In their prime form.

Doing some digging and it's called Cybersix, based on an Argentinian comic book but created in English, never fully aired in the US and I think was censored there, but all 13 eps were shown in Canada. It's apparently on Hulu atm but I have no idea in what form

Also it was not animated by Trigger. Trigger didn't exist yet. It was animated by TMS who famously did the animation for several early 90s cartoons like Animaniacs and Batman the Animated Series. As well as local anime like Lupin the third, Dr. Stone, and Fruits Basket. They also work in Collaboration shows like Cybersix and the 1990s Moomin show.
Studio Trigger was formed in 2011 by former Gainax studio members.
I'd like to note they left out the best part the love interest flirts with the Mc in both masc and fem identities, the masc less so but the sub text there
The mythology of a fox who torments and threatens a dragon. This was long before Celine named herself and became a Guardian just as Min-ji who was once an imugi and taken the role of being the Sanctuary's Guardian.
The fox loves to torment the imugi. The people who had worshipped the imugi always sees the white fox, stalking the outer borders. Sounds of woman crying at night, eating their livestocks and destroying their livelihood.
When the people plead for the imugi to stop the fox, it obliges. They had fought but the fox, with its cunningness manage to outwit the still young imugi. The imugi swore that once it reaches 1000 years old, it'll kill the fox for good. The fox had humilated it and it will not let this slide. The fox just quietly stares at it before walking away. The show of disrespect made the imugi angrier.
Decades passed and the fox still torments the people. None manage to catch it. No poison, no traps, no nothing. One-by-one, families move out.
What they didn't notice is the fox watching them from afar, seemingly approving the decision. The imugi was furious for the depleting villagers and it fought the fox. But once again, the fox outwitted it.
Growling in frustration, the imugi demands, "Why do you torment the villagers?! Is it all for fun and games?!"
The fox who was just moving away, stops and looks back at the imugi. In a voice that sounds like one who has seen many hardships, "In time you will see. There is more to the people you claimed who are good. These people will show their true self very soon. Just know this, I don't blame you for not seeing it. Especially when He is their master." The fox without waiting for the imugi's reply, leaps into the darkness.
Once the last family had left the village, the fox upped its ante. Disturbing and tormenting the remaining stubborn villagers. Along the way, it manages to avoid being swiped by shadowy figures. At night, the remaining villagers called upon the imugi and begged for its help. The imugi who was still reeling from the fox's cryptic words, hesitantly agreed.
Before it can react, dark chains had wrapped itself around the imugi. The imugi thrashes and roars, "What is the meaning of this?!"
The older villager who had begged for its aid, raises her head and says their master aid them in exchange for the imugi. Fear in its eyes, it tries to pull against the restrains. It's all fruitless as its slowly gets pulled into the shadowy abyss. Many eyes and mouths can be seen in the abyss. Cruel, mocking laughter when it realizes where its being taken to.
The villagers chants Gwi-ma's name in reverence. Appeasing to their measter for their glorious offering of the sacred imugi. Fear overtook the young imugi.
However, a white blur appears and decapitate one of the villagers. The heretics stopped their chanting and tried to look for the culprit before another gets decapitated. One by one they fell. The elder remains. She begs for Gwi-ma's help and He obliges. His dokkaebi appears. The elder heaves cries of joy before she realizes the dokkaebi isn't here to keep her safe, but instead to push the imugi into Gwi-ma's realm. When the elder asks why, Gwi-ma laughs. "I have no use for an obsolete tool. You have done your part," He whispers cruelly. Before she manages to utter a single word, the blur returns and in a shock expression, her head fell off her body.
In the lull, the elder hears a different voice. "Fortunate I made your death quick and painless. He would have made it slow and painful. But I pity you. For you will never be free from him. Not even death can save you from Him."
The imugi who is seemingly exhausted from its fighting, was slowly accepting its fate. When it heard the heretics cries of pain, it looks up and notices a familiar white fur fox. It had decapitated the heretics without missing a beat. The fox seeing the imugi slowly giving up, mocks it. Lamenting is this really the imugi it had fought all those years, who had given it many close calls.
In disbelief, the imugi will not let its pride gets a beating from this rude white fox. The imugi, with renewed (stubborn) strength, fought against its restrains. The dokkaebi who are summoned there to get the imugi into the Underworld struggles.
Gwi-ma shouts and pushes His dokkaebi to work harder. The fox grins, finally seeing the stubborn imugi again. It leaps into action and distracts the dokkaebi by slashing their hands and back. Poking their eyes and such.
With one final bellow, the imugi's chains breaks apart. The dokkaebi were pushed back by the sheer force. Gwi-ma, furious, calls upon his demons and tells them to get the imugi into the Underworld.
The fox yips in triumph seeing the imugi free from its chains. But its work is not done yet as demons pour through the tear.
"It is not over yet. We have to endure until dawn. Ready yourselves, you overgrown noodle," the fox says.
The imugi snorts, "Yes, yes, fleabag," the imugi goes quiet for a bit before it says, "Thank you. For staying."
The fox looks at it for a moment before it nods, "The least I can do to make amends for my past."
The imugi and the fox fought together as one. Their time of fighting each other had culminate into a sort of dance. The nimble fox weaving through the horde, distracting the demons for the imugi to deal a killing blow.
Triumph was in sight before the fox sees a dokkaebi readying its bow. The fox runs and leaps across the field.
The fox takes the arrow and falls beside the imugi. The imugi noticing it too late, roars in despair as it shifts its rage towards the dokkaebi. No demons can stop its rage and its main target. Before dawn breaks through, the imugi mercilessly attacks the dokkaebi.
The sun soon rises.
Gwi-ma howls in anger for failing to capture the imugi as His demons turn to dust. He vows that He will come back to take the Sun and the Moon. One way or another. With the rift finally closed, the valley is at peace.
The imugi heaves heavy breathes after its rage. It turns towards the pained whines and rushes towards the white fox.
The imugi frantically tries to help the fox to no avail. That feeling of helplessness nearly consumes it before the white fox nuzzles the imugi.
"If you wish to help me," the fox in pained whispers, "Cover me with white silk and place me under the great tree. Deep in the forest. Under the full moon." The fox looks up at the imugi pleadingly, "Please. That's all I ask."
The imugi nods mournfully, "I will do as you ask. I promise."
The fox looks at it with softness the imugi has never seen before it closes its eyes, "Thank... You," the fox releases its final breath.
Though the imugi is in despair over its fox friend, it does as what it has asked.
Centuries passed and the imugi has now become a full-fledged dragon. The dragon had kept vigil over the fox's resting place. She would occasionaly visit the valley it once called home. The memories plaguing her mind and it took her a while for her to notice the stark difference and realization.
The fox wasn't the one who killed the livestocks nor is the one who corrupts the land. It was the heretics. The fox was merely observing and thwarting their rituals, using its cunningness to get innocent families to leave the village.
Oh how the dragon mourns to ask the fox for its forgiveness. But that will never come to be, for the fox has passed away.
....
It was the full moon and the dragon was curling its body around the fox's resting place. Suddenly she hears rustling from the bushes. The dragon readies itself before a woman with sharp eyes walk into the clearing. The dragon's has her guard up and is suspicious towards the woman. Having been through of being deceived by the heretics in the past, it's no wonder the dragon is every bit suspicious.
The newcomer raises her hands in a placating manner. Something about the woman made the dragon pause and she doesn't know why. It's not until the woman drops her glamour.
Swirling red patterns run across her arms and under her eyes. Fox ears appears and nine tails lazily sways behind her. The fox woman's golden, slitted eyes twinkle with mirth and joy.
"I see you've been keeping me company, you overgrown noodle," the gumiho teases. In a softer tone, "And I thank you. For fulfilling your promise."
The dragon's eyes widen and full body tackles her fox friend. The gumiho yelps for the surprise tackle by the huge dragon. The once enemies now friends (and perhaps soon to be lovers) are reunited. The gumiho laughs and playfully teases the dragon, which the dragon vehemently denies. She's a dragon for heaven's sake. She's not a sap. Even though she's literally holding onto the gumiho's cloak.
In their reunion, they didn't notice the clearing they're seems to be thriving as the chosen Sun and Moon have arrived and together. All that is left is the Land itself.
It was winter night, the full moon illuminating the scenery in an ethereal glow. The fox Guardian is doing her usual rounds of keeping watch. All seems to be fine until one of her foxes comes running towards her, yipping for attention. Her ears perk and hurriedly follows the fox to a snowy clearing. The sight she sees makes her stomach churn as the burrow she knows houses the rabbits are destroyed. Then she heard the fox calling for her. As she approaches it, she sees a baby rabbit (kit) severely injured and clinging to life. Celine walks up and gently nudges the kit. The kit doesn't move.
The fox that led Celine whines, thinking they were too late to save the kit. Then, both foxes sees the kit's eye opening slightly, its nose twitching as it tries to move but couldn't. Sensing the strength from the kit, Celine closes her eyes then touches the kit with her snout, healing it using the Moon's blessing. Relieved the kit wouldn't be dying anytime soon, Celine gently picks the kit up and heads back.
The kit is now taken in by the foxes. One of the older fox becomes her mother figure and treats the rest of the foxes like they're her real family. Even though the little rabbit knows its not like them. One day, when Celine was playing with the rabbit and the foxes, Celine senses otherwordly capability from the now grown up kit. She guides the rabbit to reach her ascension and become a mythical creature that looks over the Moon. Once the rabbit had reached it, she named herself Zoey, influenced by one of the travelling merchant's story.
The dragon Guardian was making her rounds, through the very forest where she knows a murder of crows have made their home. They always greets the Guardian whenever she passes by them and give her gifts for a home. It's one of the many things that still brings the Guardian a smile on her face, reminding her that they still have a purpose.
The sun shines brightly and she can feel the familiar warmth. Min-ji releases a contented sigh and continues walking. She then hears a weakened caw. Min-ji rushes over and sees a baby crow under a tree. She gently picks up the chick and looks at the nest she suspects the chick is from. She doesn't see the chick's parents, she opted to wait under the tree and kept the chick warm.
The next day, there's still no sign of the chick's parents. A deep sense of Min-ji calls for Celine's foxes to find the chick's parents. A moment later, the fox bears a heartbreaking report that the chick's parents have died when scavenging for food.
Hearing that, Min-ji's heart breaks as she feels the chick cawing for food. Its unusually small for a chick and the thought of leaving the chick to its fate doesn't feel right for Min-ji. Especially when she senses the chick is more than it seems. Cradling the chick close to herself, Min-ji vows she'll take care of it alongside her fellow Guardian.
The chick grew up to be an amazing and graceful flier, with a very particular difference between it and the rest of the crows. It has three legs instead of two. Hence the two Guardians have no doubt in their mind that the crow is a samjok-o. It is friends with the foxes and for this particular rabbit that was taken in by the fox Guardian, they're best friends.
Like Zoey, the crow becomes a young girl and has the ability to shapeshift. She calls herself Mira.

Before they take their name and become the samjok-o and daltokki:
The crow and the rabbit knows the people of the sanctuary and the Guardians who took them in. They grew up together and are always by their respective Guardian side or each other. But alas, good things come to an end as the crow and the rabbit become old. The Guardians let these two stay together and care for them when they couldn't move as much.
When Min-ji senses the crow is nearly at its life end, she stayed and hums a lullaby, gently caressing its feathers. The moment she feels the crow is about to take its last breath, Min-ji leans in and tells it that she'll wait for it by the tree and new dawn will embrace it home.
As that's happening, Celine enters the room they're in. She also senses the rabbit's life slipping away. She gently picks it up and murrs, gently carding her claws through its fur like it loves. When she feels the rabbit is about to take its last breath, she whispers to the rabbit that she'll wait for it and that the full moon will embrace it when it comes home.
When the crow and the rabbit breathes out its last breath, the two Guardians take their respective charge and carry them to their domain.
Min-ji covers the crow with black silk and bells, before placing it under the bough of a tree, overlooking the sanctuary. She places a Sun emblem and conjures orbs of light where the crow is currently resting.
In the fox domain, Celine covers the rabbit with white silk. A green jewel and ribbon is place with it before she gently place the rabbit under the bough of a tree, overlooking the forest outside the sanctuary. Celine places the Moon emblem on top of the mound and places moonstones.
Every year, the two Guardians make offerings for the crow and the rabbit whether they're the sanctuary's harvest or tteok.
(100 years later)
Min-ji had was watching over the sanctuary as dawn comes. She then looks toward the tree where the crow rest when a single beam of light from the Sun hits the mound. A flicker of light emerges and once there was a mound, there's now a three legged crow, cawing weakly as it slowly opens its eyes. Min-ji quickly walks over and kneels in front of it. The crow recognizes the Guardian and gives her a playful peck. Smiling, Min-ji picks the crow up and care for it like she had once did. The crow is now a samjok-o.
...
It's the full moon night and the song of the forest picks up. Celine was meditating with the foxes napping around her, surrounded by their murr. Hearing the news from Min-ji that the crow has ascended brings her joy she hasnt felt in a long time. At the moment, the crow is resting in Min-ji's domain and continue to rest until next year. Then, she sense it. The pull towards the mound where the rabbit had been put to rest. Celine quickly gets up and head towards the mound. The moonlight beam hits the mound at the same time Celine arrives. An ethereal light surrounds the area before a white rabbit, adorned with an emerald jewel and green ribbons emerges, seemingly having a nap. Celine approaches the rabbit with an amused expression and nudges it to wake up. The rabbit slowly wakes up and sees the Guardian. It was about to hop happily seeing the familiar face. Not realizing how weak it was, it flops towards the ground. Celine snorts in amusement before she gets a glare from the downed rabbit. Shaking her head, Celine picks the rabbit up and cares for the now ascended rabbit. The rabbit is now known as a daltokki.
The two, now ascended, friends are reunited with each other and their Guardians (caretaker).
Demon Miyeong running away from the Underworld with her baby. Coming across a sanctuary, a blind hope that the Demon King wouldn't find them there, only to be met with the sanctuary's Guardian.

after 4 years of drawing webcomics, this is my wisdom:
start now. now. now now now. or else you'll never draw this damn thing
it's fine if you don't have the entire story figured out yet, it'll happen naturally
draw what you want to draw!! webcomics often run for years, so you better work with something you like
don't overcomplicate things. a simple, efficient work flow is your top priority in order to stay consistent
bullshit some things. trace background refs. reuse poses. draw your character's face from different angles and just copy paste it in to save time. be smart about your work baby
take breaks if needed. webcomic burnout is real
sometimes, a panel or a page looks bad. shit happens. move on
lettering is actually really important and super hard to pull off
it's your comic. do what you want forever!!!
I'm begging you again to work smart, not hard. reuse backgrounds. use brush sets for webcomic artists. trace 3D objects. use 3D models to pose your characters
you may need hours or days to draw one panel, but people will look at it for 5-8 seconds. keep that in mind
a simple background is better than no background at all (avoiding the white void increases the quality of your work by a ton!)
sometimes the anatomy needs to be a little off to make an interesting shot/panel. that's fine, don't worry about it too much
at least 2000px canvas and 300 dpi for good quality results
it's okay to stop by the way. it's okay to move on from a project if you no longer find joy in it
