why is there always an -ess, when describing a feminine counterpart? EmprESS, lionESS, actrESS. doesn't it sound, like the male title but with LESS added to the end? as if to say that the female counterpart is lesser than the male and shall thus be further emphasised this way.

honestly, i don't really care that Valko "broke into" MC's house. we don't even have context of what was happening here. it's not like MC wasn't home when he appeared either. if MC didn't want him inside, she would have dealt with him lickidy split (let's not forget she's extremely capable of violence when necessary. she's not helpless). also at this point in the story, they're likely already acquainted. compared to the other stuff in the game, this is so tame.

dottore being openly interested in the arts is so hot important to me. it's such a good detail of how open he is to exploring all kinds of intelligence and knowledge. I feel it also plays into his heretical theme because it's known scholars (more especially from the Akademiya) look down on the arts and don't recognize it as a form of intelligence while not only does Dottore acknowledge it as one but shamelessly indulges himself in it. to me, this is something i would say proves he is a true scholar

it never occurred to me that Americans can't tell when someone is putting on a British accent. it's usually easy for me to tell. it's why i am so impressed by Joshua Water's performance as Qifrey because I did not clock at all. i genuinely had to double check if they were American fr haha. it completely takes me out of the immersion once I realise VAs are putting on an accent and can't keep up with it as the dialogue continues (hence why i don't enjoy Qifrey audios as much unfortunately)

just watched Ladies First and naturally i have things to say. firstly, I thought it was a fun concept and had details in the dialogue, acting and visuals that I think female audiences would have caught onto sooner or easier. one of my favourite details was the soundtrack including female covers of popular/classic songs done by men. while i enjoy a good ol scrooge type storyline, i will say that my only gripe is that it's not as progressive or forward thinking as i had hoped

the amount of attention Dottore gets from hoyo is honestly so absurd. i don't think i've seen anything remotely like it, even from archons. his presence has been littered around Teyvat since Liyue. i'm going to try and list all this content from the top of my head

Dottore made acquiring and using the Trilune Authority look easy and that's what has a lot of people very confused. yes, he was cooking the cast for a while before Columbina came back, yes he stole the moon marrows but have you actually considered what kind of intellect is required to obtain or rather steal (which is a feat on its own) and wield an archaic power that is fundamentally incompatible with the average person? not even a vision-holder is near compatible with it. not to mention how quickly he mastered it. I enjoyed the detail where he expressed he still hasn't fully mastered the power and is still trying to manage it (when he accidentally put the Traveler to sleep for a month). it showed that even with that power, he still needed to learn how properly use it in a way that works for him.

I think Genshin really fucked themselves over when it came to the friendship system because now, not only does this mean antagonistic characters can't be playable but that it is required for the Traveler to at least be on good and or really familiar terms with a character. I don't think every character should be fond or close with the Traveler. It takes away potential complexity in relationships and potential storylines that could be explored.

i now fully understand why the Harbingers found Dottore and Pantalone insufferable. can you imagine being in a room with them and having to hear them viscously flirt with each other the entire time? I would be sick to my stomach and demand compensation for having to endure that

thinking about getting a full body examination from Dottore as one of his biochemically modified experiments. his examination is so clinical yet intimate and the way he knows your anatomy in a way no one else does. when he's tired or some adjustments get too complicated, he just has you sit on his lap while he works. he doesn't really care if your hands are planted on his shoulders, chest, abdomen, whatever is necessary for the best angle and helps you find your stability, guiding you with such careful yet firm precision. each touch is intentional....
