representation matters

This is a reminder to not get the news from tumblr and go read reports from actual journalists

also don't assume that just because people don't blog about a World Event doesn't mean they don't care about it happening

Frankly I think a lot of Tumblr users think there is no overlap between trans women and gay men like there is between trans men and lesbians 1. because RuPaul did a great job intentionally convincing at least two generations of baby queers that gay men and trans women don't share culture because he's a transmisogynist piece of shit who intentionally kept trans women off Drag Race for years - shattering the perception of our community overlap in the eyes of the mainstream, 1.5. and that culture he cultivated in the mainstream made you afraid of drag as an art so you're uncurious about it, and 2. you're afraid of learning about balls because they're not sanitized white queer culture.

Once upon a time a huge proportion of trans women came out from the gay community. My trans mentor was one such person. It was a core part of our history, one of the only communities where we could experiment without (much) fear. Trans women who still ID as gay (for men) fucking exist, just like trans men who still ID as lesbians. It’s pretty normal to want to keep IDing with the community which gave you your life and stay part of it. Transitioning shouldn’t mean giving up that community, and the expectation that we should is transphobia.

I feel so insane about ai. I've had face-to-face conversations with people who use it for therapy, who use it to calculate the safety of pill interactions, who use it for all their emails and grant applications and legal documents and academic papers and finance sheets and for every single question they have about the world, and if you tell them about the ecological costs they just laugh and say "I guess I've used a lot of water." and I've been in multiple gatherings of 10+ people where I'm THE ONLY PERSON who doesn't use chatgpt. it's turning me into a ranting raving pariah, because how don't you people see??? why don't you understand??????? this bullshit didn't exist five years ago, you absolutely do not need it, and it is destroying everything

more orgs need actual webpages. i shouldn't have to log in or create an instagram account to find out when your meeting is

btw nemáte někdo náhodou libovolnej vhled do vnitřních záležitostí prague pride? proč vypadaj že maj tolik sponzorů, ale pokud vím, tak svejm dobrovolníkům neplatí a neplánujou to, a vstupný je doporučený? proč byly všechny anotace akcí a některý obrázky generovaný ai? dělaj lidi, co ty jednotlivý podakce organizujou, to co chtěj/s čím sami přišli, nebo jim to je nahodně přiděleno? (my jsme s bestie byli na tom stredečním "teplý mejdan v rytmu českých hitů" a nejenom že lokace byla debilně popsaná, ale vypadalo to, že ten chudák dj tam spíš nechce bejt & na parketu byli asi tři lidi.)
