Mariners beat Astros to take series in Houston
August 16th, 2026 Daikin Park - Houston, TX 📸 Thomas Shea
YAY
HELP?
Okay, was anyone gonna tell me that the Mariners had a 20-foot replica boat that fired off a real live cannon whenever players hit a home run during the 80's? Or was i just supposed to learn that myself?
Before it was a blog, it was a ballpark attraction that distracted fans from the terrible baseball they were watching by going * boom *
Let's bring it backkkkk
(Even though fans fucking hated it at the time)
OKAY. Apparently they were just doing whatever during the 80's because they also had a bullpen cart designed to look like a tugboat. It was called the SS Relief and the pitchers refused to use it.
Baby, you can(not) drive my (bullpen) car(t), the story behind a popular Mariners picture.

Wait... I've been 2-birds-too-foul for like. Forever but now I'm tempted to change it. Idkkk though I'm so indecisive
what do y'all think:
keep it two-birds-too-foul
change it to keystonecombination (or keystonecombo?)
change it to winsabovereplacement

jasmin paris becoming the first woman to ever finish the barkley marathons in 2024, 99 seconds before the 60-hour cutoff // photos by howie stern
i think about these pictures all the time. jasmin paris is so fucking cool. there's an interview with the photographer here that gives some more context.
The Barkley Marathons are cool as fuck!! Everyone should read up on it and also on Jasmin Paris, my GOAT. Prior to this, the man behind the Barkley Marathons had even said publicly that a woman was unlikely to ever be able to finish.
There are also two documentaries on it that I've watched and loved: The Barkley Marathons: The Race that Eats Its Young, and Where Dreams Go to Die. I actually met Gary Robbins (the Canadian ultrarunner that Where Dreams Go to Die focuses on) just last month, he gave me a hug and I was very excited to meet him :))
Endurance sports are a big interest of mine, and it's super awesome to see a trend of increased female participation. In fact, not only are women joining endurance sports in increasing numbers, but women are now out-competing the men in many of these fields!
Kelsey Pfendler just became the first American woman to row solo from California to Hawaii, beating the men's record by a jaw-dropping 9 days.
Cocodona (a 253.3-mile point-to-point ultramarathon in Arizona, for those unfamiliar) was recently won by Rachel Entrekin. Not only did she win it, she set the overall course record. With a time of 56 hours, nine minutes and 48 seconds.
Fiona Kolbinger won a 4000 km cycling race from Bulgaria to France in 2019. She's also a cancer researcher. Btw.
Courtney Dauwalter won the Moab 240 by more than 10 hours. She also previously won Colorado’s Run Rabbit Run 100 and Arizona’s Javelina Jundred 100K, where she set the course records.
Sophie Woods just set the fastest known time across the Alps, covering more than 2,000 kilometres and climbing the equivalent of Mount Everest 12 times in less than a month (28 days, 17 hours and 59 minutes).
And these are just the examples I could think off the top of my head! I might come back to this list later though :) Sorry to hijack your post OP
Another one that I just found out about: the overall podium for the Aspen Backcountry Marathon on August 1 in Colorado was completely filled with women! Brier Youngfleish won it with a time of 4:8:16. Jessica Parry finished second overall in 4:21:41, and McKendree Hickory took third overall (4:32:06). Gil Allgood finished fourth as the men’s winner (4:35:56).
your brother is gnc as fuck
thanks i used to let him sit really close to the microwave as a baby so that the radiation would turn him gay
