Did the Hammond interactions not drop with the event today? I havent heard anything

Has anyone on the Overwatch team explained why Hammond had to latch onto Winstons escape pod secretly if they were friends? Why didn't he just take Hammond with him?

Hammond has a victory pose called 'on top' and now Winston has a 'catcher' skin. I'm simply stating the facts here
