I’ve already marked some main points about the species, but there’s some other important parts to their species (more personality and like behavioral things) but I’m not gonna bore anybody with it rn…though I might make another post addressing the other points…but oh well who knows.

I decided to make Cosmo a sub-species of the Nightfury, just because I dunno lmaooo…I suppose I was feeling creative last night.

There are some notes about Stormfuries that I wrote on the drawing, but here are a few more notes I came up with:

I mentioned they travel in groups, to migrate to bigger storms and whatnot. But when traveling those long distances they’d fly in a V formation, much like a flock of geese.

Also the strongest wouldn’t lead the group, it would usually be the eldest because they have the most knowledge of migration routes and where landing spots are and stuff, they also would teach the next generation who after finding their own mates and starting a family, would then use that knowledge to lead their own groups.

They also have really fast dives, which they’d use to catch fish close to the surface of water or seabirds or even sometimes smaller dragons.

Their scales are hydrophobic, and rain and seawater slides right off of them, which makes them able to slice through storms and cut through seawater quickly to hunt.

Also body language is a big factor in their communication. Storms are loud and to communicate they use body language (I haven’t really thought this one out)

And (for the aesthetic aspect) when they use their lightening like fire, bright blue and yellow sometimes green (the color really just depends on the dragon) veins will glow from underneath their scales and concentrate around their mouth until their lightning fires.
