Repost from 2016: To look into the eyes of an indigenous/native person is the see the sorrow of a culture destroyed by colonial powers. Colonial powers filled with greed and power threw away their fires, houses, music, land and medicine and left them scattered across the world in small groups. Little did they know the indigenous tribes were only ones with the keys to the heart. So as the colonial men, women and children came into the recent centuries Karma struck with an pandemic of depression and anxiety. Their solution instead of listening to the tribes was to go their best scientists and ask 'What chemical will fix this?' Devoid of an understanding of nature or emotions they helped people further numb and block the pain and guilt of what their forefathers had done to the natives. One day when an indigenous chief can be treated with the same amount of respect from the world as our other leaders we will have peace 🙏🏻
