Wild to Styles

I had remnants of previous projects and decided to try my hand at a little quilting mixed into a skirt. Hats off to you quilters I don't know how you do it all the time. So many hours! But I will admit the piecing together was fun but I was so ready to see the end. Yes I know I need to iron the project I was so eager to throw it together after hours and hours of piecework. It's almost done ! Here's a few fitting photos.

I looked at my shelf of Good will fabric finds and I could not resist jumping on this project. I found a simple pattern and adjusted a few measurments .Here's another dress for spring that can be worn alone or with a shirt beneath. I lined it with a pink lining, but on accident did the wrong fabric flip. So here's to mistakes and the back is two colors instead of blue all the way around. Also I need to iron it . Don't judge thewrinkles!

Spring will come faster than I can spin my head left. So I'm jumping ahead and planning 5 spring outfits than can be interchanged with clothes I already own and 2 stand alone outfits. Below is my spring top and skirt ensemble . So far it has taken me about 2 weeks to work on. I sewed these button patches then attached them to my sleeves. Pardon the pins holding the top closed I have yet to embark on the button hole journey. Any advice anyone ?

My sewing shelf is finally complete! I found this blue shelving for 10 dollars at the Goodwill outlet and finally have a place to stack my Goodwill found fabrics so I can touch and see them without too much disturbance. Originally I thought of a bin but I just hated the idea of pulling everything out to put it all back. Here I can visualize and dream. Flowers,checkered,solids, cottons, silks, linen,laces polkadot, salmon ,sky blue,rusty orange , red,black, creme my 2023 colors/fabrics are almost complete. Just a few more and then I shall begin planning what I will sew.

Tops are not my forte. I will admit this will all my heart I love puffy sleeves but sleeves are my enemy. Vile fabric monster shapes that torture my seamstress heart. How can I make them easier? Does anyone have the secret code to sleeves the tell all? I originally attempted this top to see if it could go along with the skirt.However, I found the pattern to busy and so I shall wear eventually, separately. Sleeves on standby. P.S where can I purchase a set of mice who assist in sewing?

I spotted this fabric at a Goodwill outlet and I thought ," Oh my that would make a great boho/western skirt and vest , versatile with black clothes or together." It is sturdy material and yet light enough for a good swish as you walk. Who doesn't like a good skirt swish!? Part I - The Skirt -

A new year approaches and I am beginning this journey to embrace my love/hobby for and of sewing and my goal to sew my 2023 wardrobe. Will it be trying yes! Can I do it yes! Here here to the grandma who put this jar of buttons together and it winding up at the Goodwill for $5.99. I think it's safe to say I've got buttons covered for the foreseeable future.
