🌤 riley makes a very solid effort to not disturb the world of those around them and prioritizes controlling her abilities whenever she can, not allowing them to control her as they did in their youth. it is incredibly important to her that while she isn’t ashamed of it, she wants to ensure others aren’t scared of it. 🌤 a bit of a hoarder, collecting all of the tiny and strange things in the world around her- primarily ones she dreams up herself- and trying to make sense of HOW they happen… WHY they happen… and HOW she can improve. 🌤 while one might assume, with her abilities, riley would make it so the teams she coaches never fail… but that is far from the truth. riley finds it really important that the kids she coaches find their own strengths on the field or on the ice, and only really gives them an upper hand when the other team is being a bit… unfair. they don’t want the kids to rely on her for success, but rely on themselves. 🌤 their identity is something she never really thought about, being as it was written for her by those around her. what she believed to know about herself was always shifted by her parents or bullies. their identity has allowed them to create a part of themselves that is separate from the words of others, isolated from all but the feelings in their own heart. riley believes she was given a gift from out of this world… and having an identity to match that, outside of the boxes of gender (something also decided by her parents), was incredibly important to her. benjee helped her a lot with discovering that. 🌤 riley loves rootbeer floats. like, it’s an unhealthy obsession. they also refuse to eat pizza unless it’s chicago style. deep dish or death. 🌤 a rainbow shadow that `sometimes goes on vacation, bursts of anger or frustration accompanied by an isolated raincloud, small creatures no one besides riley knows the name of, a small cage to keep the itemized versions of her emotions in (that damn heart ALWAYS finding it’s way on their sleeve!! ), a hockey stick that helps her coach, a whistle that speaks when they blow it, having a devil and an angel on your shoulder that people can actually see and never stop talking. EVER. 🌤 riley lives a very colorful life in evermore, but just because they left her childhood home, that doesn’t mean the nightmares stayed away. they were a part of her now, and they were much harder to control than pleasant and whimsical dreams. 🌤 attempting to branch out and make friends when your only social life consisted of your parents and the imaginary friend you thought up is a challenge … but riley is attempting to conquer that and not keep themselves so isolated. easier said than done, but they’re trying.
