lets play cooking mama to cope with being trapped in a time loop
âNot âyouâ. Volug.â He corrects, though by his flippant tone, he isnât particularly bothered. Itâs far from the worst thing heâs been called. In fact, âyouâ probably ranked pretty highly on the list of things that beorc called him other than his name, but he has to remind himself that the whole reason heâs here is to work on his diplomacy skills or lack thereof.Â
Her Highness help him, these people sure do like to test him, though.
He tilts his head at Monicaâs sudden outburst. Sheâs the one skipping out on her role in the story, so why is she getting mad at him? Does she think he enjoys repeating the same day over and over again, either? Once he finally gets out of here, heâs got quite the bone to pick with a certain projectionist who certainly must be getting a kick out of watching him repeat the same story over and over and over and over again.
He takes a moment to think about how to phrase what he wants to say in the common tongue, his words coming out haltingly. ââŚYouâre not fighting the dragon. Keeping you out of danger.â
â THE WAY HE says it isnât malicious, not by any means, and Monica thinks he doesnât care- probably, maybe, possibly. Sheâs never really been the best with being able to read how much someone does or doesnât care about something, but no matter. The calm he manages to keep on him is probably indication enough that heâs not going to go off on her, or anything.
That being said, she doesnât expect him to-
â Protect me? Eh? â She blinks, points from her own chest to his and back again. â Eh? Really? Well, ahâŚÂ â
Itâs kind. Itâs kind and not wanting for anything and it causes her to think twice about the person in front of her, but itâs better to just-
Dismiss it as a righteousness complex.
That sort of idea is easier for her to swallow as she fans her hands to the side, smile wide.Â
â Really! That sort of thing is ripe to make a girl up and quit her job. Which, frankly, â she pulls off her apron, letting it fall to the ground. â Iâm getting tired of trying to bake or cook or whatever, so⌠Iâll take you up on that, then! â
She skips over, arm reaching to take Volug by his own. Itâs a rough gesture, but not a malicious one; if nothing else, she really does want to try exploring this village with Volug. And, perhaps more importantly, see if heâll keep such a quickly made promise.
