“Você não quer mesmo que eu vá, não é?”, se referiu ao seu jeito aborrecido de encará-lo e um sorriso provocativo surgiu na boca bonita.

“Não.”, nem ao menos tentou soar indiferente. Havia feito o seu drama no momento em que finalmente conseguiu ficar à sós com seu namorado, ele já conhecia o chão no qual estava pisando. Empurrou Jude pelo quadril quando se aproximou, mas somente o suficiente para se colocar entre ele e a bancada da pia. Apoiando as mãos nas margens sinalizou que precisava de ajuda para se sentar ali a fim de compensar a diferença de altura — durante toda a interação se recusou a falar propriamente, era uma mulher de poucas palavras sob frustração. A expressão de deleite do homem não fez nada além de sobrecarregar mais um pouquinho. Cameron smirked, “I’m already knowin’ Miss Dean’s List—“

You immediately closed your eyes, a blush of embarrassment spreading over your face. “Oh god, stop—“

“Hell naw, lemme brag on you. Miss Dean’s List, Miss Latin Honors. You’re smart as fuck, girl, stop playin’. Hell yeah you got shit to lose. I don’t think anybody else in our Intro to Chemistry class has their name in the places you do, of course I needed you to tutor me”

You shook your head, “well good, I’m glad you know that, you’re reinforcing what I’m saying. I don’t quit on myself and you need my help so I’m not quitting on you. Let’s get to work, boy”

Cameron groaned and sat up straighter, pencil in hand and eyes on the practice sheet, ready to go.

He took one last glance at you, a smile on his face and a shake of his head, before focusing on the work. He worked diligently, mentally checked in, and asked questions every now and then.

He surprised you by wanting to solve two problems before declaring himself done. Dropping the pencil and pushing the paper towards you, you examined it.

“Check up, bae”

You cut him a look, “I ‘don told you about calling me that”

Cameron chuckled, “but you mine though, I can’t give you a ‘lil pet name?”

You grumbled a ‘whatever’ and continued looking over his work.. you were surprised to say the least. Your brows raised as you looked at him, his greenish hazels swirling and expecting your response.

“You got it, Cam” you breathed out, “this.. all of this is right, I can’t even correct you”

Immediately, Cameron Cade hopped out of his seat and celebrated. Jumping up and down, yelling out.

“Let’s fucking go!” You rolled your eyes, giggling.

“Fuck yeah, I got it, girl, that’s all thanks to you” Cameron Cade appeared behind you and swiftly kissed your cheek, “I owe you. Whatchu’ want from DoorDash, all on me. Food, drink, and even some extra shit— what ever you want”

Your nervous heart beat wildly against your ribcage. Dinner with your crush? And he’s paying for it? Not to mention that slick ass kiss on the cheek. No way this was real life.

“A-actually Cam, I can’t stay” you began packing up, “I have other work to do”

Cameron frowned softly, phone in hand. “Just do it here, you brought all your stuff. You can stay here as long as need or until your work is finished, I’on mind having you here”

You were still hesitant. Cameron pleadingly eyed you.

“C’mon now. I gotta do something nice for you, (Y/N), you’ve been helping me for weeks. You coulda’ given up on me or said no when i asked you for help. But you didn’t. You stayed down and helped me understand this bullshit so let me pay you back”

The more you looked at Cameron Cade, the more his pleading eyes bored into yours, that awaiting smile on his lips like he knew how you’d answer.

You sighed defeatedly, “Okay”

Cameron cheered once again. He suddenly appeared at your side with his phone, sliding it towards you, the DoorDash app opened.

“Pick whatever, bae”

You swatted your hand at him, “shut up, Cameron”

You didn’t expect to have been there for so long. Your carton of Chinese food sitting beside you as you continued working on your other assignments.

By now the sun was setting, creating a pretty reddish orange view over the horizon, shining subtly through Cameron’s curtains. Cameron Cade who sat on his couch, his TV on playing some college basketball game.
